It reminded me of Katherine Legge crash from last year in Champ Car. She had only bruise on her knee.

this is interesting:
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Beaver blamed for wrecking race hopes
Reuters | Monday, 11 June 2007

Briton Anthony Davidson has blamed a beaver for costing him a possible first Formula One points finish in the Canadian Grand Prix.

The Super Aguri driver hit the animal while in third place behind the safety car at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

He finished 11th after making an unscheduled pitstop to replace a damaged front wing.

"It's such a shame about the beaver," Davidson said in a team review of the race.

"It had it in for me for sure.

"I couldn't even see it at high speed and I could not understand why suddenly I locked up the front tyres."

i wondered why they werent ready for him at the time!

That was a cracking race in Montreal. Up until the first safety car, it was pretty dull stuff, Alonso drove like a man on the front row for the first time in his career, not a 2 time World Champion. All those safety cars, it was just like NASCAR, maybe that's why it was so good, plus it being a bit more dangerous, all them walls, hmmm, it really was like NASCAR. And then Sato overtook Alonso, which was brilliant. Certainly the most interesting race this year.

Still, no overtaking or even close racing at the sharp end, now that would be good. Lewis was not put under any pressure except by mad Alonso in the first corner and then later on by the restarts after the safety car and even then I would have expected Heifeld to try and get a bit closer. It's nice to have a Brit up front.

Having watched that crash replay a few times, the impression left on me is just how incredibly safe F1 cars are these days, its truly stunning. Crashes at huge speed and such hard impacts are dealt with so well with the car designs that even crashes like this result in relatively minor consequences. Modern F1 drivers are very very lucky.

Amazing indeed!!!

Holy cockpit!!!

Yeah, read that on some site earlier today..

Of course I rather saw Kubica race, but at the moment his safety is what matters, he wouldn't want to make things worse. So, I think it's a wise decision to let Vettel race instead.

I'm kinda excited to be honest. The guy is ONLY 19, he must be so excited!!!
I wish him the best this weekend!!

Less than 3 hours till the first free practice!!!

Yes, I was thinking about his age too.

This is depressing, it makes me feel so old when people younger than me are driving formula one cars

Ow, don't feel depressed Tommy!! You have other qualities

Anyway, Vettel is doing a good job so far!! Of course we only had the first free practice, but still!!!

McLaren and BMW look strong, can't say the same about Ferrari. They were really disappointing in Canada, hopefully they will do better this weekend.

After the 2nd free practice McLaren still seems the team to beat. Ferrari looks like they are the 2nd team (again)..I guess it's too early to say who's gonna do what.

Bring on the quali!!!!!

It looks like a standard weekend so far, Mclaren are going really well at the moment and probably provoking some head scratching in the red garage. Ferrari seem to be there or there abouts, and BMW are getting closer all the time. How quick is that Vettel kid, he could win himself a full time drive next year if he keeps it up!!!

Overall i think we might be seeing a bit of world champion driving where Alonso pulls out the drive he needs just when he needs it, you don't beat Shumacher for free remember.

The race is scheduled here to be shown here on Monday 1am can anyone clarify?

Ow ja!!!

I thought Dazza lived in England..

There is a whisper in the paddock that there was an Engine change on Hamiltons car last night, and that McLaren have chosen to keep it a secret until after qualifying. I hope not..

Vettel just went quickest in practice with about 10 minutes to go
<
<

EDIT: Practice just ended. Alonso quickest, closely followed by Vettel. Hamilton is third, and he looked to be sandbagging slightly, we'll have to wait and see what becomes of the engine change rumour. Alonso looks to be the most comfortable so far, both Ferrari drivers looked messy. Watch out for the BMW's, they're looking quick here.

LEWIS HAMILTON ON POLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
<
<
<

Great to see him on pole, I had actually expected Fernando on pole, so well done Lewis!!!! Not surprising to see a McLaren 1-2, there's no doubt at the moment, they are the team to beat!! I'm curious about the start. Will Alonso try to overtake Lewis immediately..or??? Should be interesting!!!

Ferrari on 2nd row, actually a bit surprising to see both of them on 2nd row, I thought one of the BMWs would be in the top 4, but Nick was very close though!!! Kimi didn't time his last lap that well, he could have had another lap, cause he came short 2 sec I think. Hopefully they have a strong strategy so they can challenge McLaren, but I think McLaren is the top favourite for the win tomorrow.

Nice to see both Renaults in the top 10, well done to Heikki, who will start from 6th position!! Vettel did a good job as well, 7th ain't bad at all!! Wish the young German good luck tomorrow.

Bring on the race!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was chatting to my brother today about Lewis and how impressive he seems to be, and then we got to wondering if any of you guys know how many times a rookie has won the world championship, and when?

If anyone knows that'd rock.
