Sunday morning, all is calm!!!

Go on Lewis!!
<
I hope he stuffs it past Fernando into turn 1, as he has done to others in previous GP.

Today could be one of the great days in F1 history, a defining moment in a record breaking season. I'm not saying it will be, it just could be. This makes me wonder........How much pressure is on this young man's shoulders? It must be immense, but he seems to be totally taking it in his stride. It makes you realise how substancial his support is, and how intelligent he is to have soaked up all the guidance.

I'm sure there's a lot of pressure on Hamilton's shoulders.
But so far he's handling it in very mature way!! That has really amazed me a lot this season. The guy is just great (must be because he's a Capricorn..like me
<
).

I think the pressure will be immense in Silverstone..cant wait for that GP!!

It's a long time since I can remember seeing a grand prix dominated like that by one team. A ferrari one minute behind? That really shows how good the McLaren was today. And to be honest I think Alonso had Hamilton covered today, he looked pretty comfortable, he would have probably extended his lead further in the last stint had Ron not told them to cool it.

Raikkonen's confidence must be shot at the moment.

McLaren race victory to be probed

I think they should just leave it, it happens all the time and if Ron Dennis and Lewis Hamilton had kept their mouths shut no one would have said anything.

Alonso would have taken it easy in the knowledge mclaren were going to let him win and even if Hamilton kept pushing like he said it was pointless as Alonso seemed to have the pace to beat him anyway and the result would have been the same.

Agreed!

Of course I'd rather seen Lewis win, but they shouldn't make more out of it than it actually is. Like you said, these things happen more often. If they hadn't said a word, we wouldn't know about it. I don't think they will get disqualified..and they shouldn't, still think it was a bit ...... up for Lewis, you could see afterwards he was not happy about it, but..next time better..

Bit boring that race, if it had rained all the better.

Full marks to Lewis, FA and Massa.

Special mentions to Kimi who bagged a point and Scott Speed makng up 9 places.

I'd actually expected it to rain during the race, unfortunately that didn't happen..it definitely would have made things interesting to watch!!!

Rain races are always crazy to watch, but a wet Monaco GP is even more crazy!!! Did one of you ever see Monaco 84???

This whole team orders argument is getting out of hand now. Lets face it, what McLaren did on Sunday wasn't team orders, it was common sense. None of us as viewers like this kind of thing, but this is the real world, and for most of the race Alonso comfortably had Hamilton covered. Both were around a minute ahead of third place, so risking anything at that point would be stupid.

If Hamilton would have pushed too hard and taken both cars out of the race by accident, McLaren would probably have been criticised for not issuing team orders in the last stint.

At the end of the day, theres no point having this no team orders rule because there are so many ways they can cover it up anyway. It's not limited to F1, the exact same thing happened in MotoGP last year with Yamaha for most of the season, and with Honda in Valencia. Its just part of being in a team at this level of racing. Even looking back at Jerez this year, Edwards seemed to be acting as a rear gunner for Rossi, and thats only two rounds in.

Yeah i watched that recently, it was indeed crazy. They had to drive so carefully and even then most of them managed to crash anyway.

This is the result of the british media making an uproar because our boy didn't win. Things like this are exactly why i don't watch the news or read newspapers and another reason to not want further commercialization of motogp.

That was a great drive by Ayrton. Too bad they stopped the race, otherwise he would have won. That would have been something..winning Monaco in your debut season (while drivng the Toleman!!!). That race was proof that AS was a great rain driver!!!

What year are you watching now?? I hope I haven't spoilt your fun by telling who would win the titles those years (you probably forgot anyway
<
..).

It's really pathetic if you ask me. One moment they act like someone is on top of the world, and when they don't live up to those expectations, they are ''losers'' all of a sudden. I guess the expectations were high last GP, but Hamilton's time will come, I think very soon..at least I hope so!

Its definitely pathetic, i've stopped caring because i'm a bit down on F1 at the moment, i've got other stuff to think about.

I've definitely forgotten everything you told me, was it Prost or Senna?

I'm actually only half way through 83 at the moment, but after you said about monaco 84 i wanted to see what the fuss was about, then it became clear why you liked it so much

Anyway. Back to modern day...

Continueing the slamming of their own sports that is going on today... Hamilton has been slammed for his starts being "dangerous" and "reminiscent of michael schumacher" to which extent they should have received black flags...

To me complete rubbish again - hamilton's starts are what f1 needs!

You mean this one? slammed by Villeneuve
or somebody elese said that too?

I agree with you.

But calling guys from the back - monkeys (Hamilton did it)

That's not good. I was really suprised!
Unfortunately video on YouTube has been removed.
Anybody elese seen that?

i heard about what Hamilton said and it was pretty unfair i think.

Was a bit hash of Lewis yeah.

Speaking of Formula One. I got my Silverstone tickets today. Well achelly my mum got them through post. She is a huge fan of it like me. I go to Silverstone every year with her. Have you guys been to a F1 race?

LEWIS HAMILTON ON POLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
<
<
<

I didn't see the quali live, just watched it!!
Many congratulations to Hamilton, what a great quali, and what a great accomplishment, pole in his 6th F1 race!!

McLaren really looks strong so far. A few days ago I actually thought Ferrari was gonna be the team to beat in Canada, but it seems McLaren has the upper hand. Ferrari's result ain't that great, they should both have been on at least 2nd row!! But with Nick in 3rd position that didn't happen. Well done to him btw!! I'm curious about their race strategy.

Can't wait for the race..

Will Lewis win his maiden GP tomorrow?????
