I don't know if it it igned yet but its pretty much a done deal.
I don't think he will be able to beat the Yamahas for the Superstock title next year.
The Supersport title will be nice to watch though. THeres a few good machines in there.

Why doesn't Ducati Austin at least try to run a 749 in Formula Extreme? It would be legal. Do they not think they would have a chance even in FX?

Riders in WSS have to try really hard to keep up with the 600cc's and they may not even be factory supported 600's.

Those V-twins are losing out to the inline 4's quickly.
In both SBK and SS.

Man, am I excited for AMA's Yoshimura Suzuki team next year. Mladin, Spies, and Tommy. We all know that one of them is going to win Superbike class, but the more exciting things are 1.) Spies is going to be a potential Superstock contender and 2.) Tommy a two-time Supersport champ may be able to make the Gixxer 600 a championship bike. I LOVE MY SUZUKI'S...

Yes, Suzuki will probably have things their way once again in SBK. SS is another good title opportunity for them. Will Eslick be a Yoshimura rider in SS next year? He got his chance at Mid-Ohio, but he was taken out. It was sort of cool watching him run at 40 mph, though.

I believe Eslick will be racing for Matsushima Suzuki again next year. I'll be cheering him on for the FX class, since Yosh don't have a rider for that class. I think he's got great potential to be running with the factory guys in that class. He'll be running in the Supersport class as well, but I'd really like to see Tommy take the gixxer 600 to the top.

This has been bugging me this year; why are the FX, Ss, and super stock races so damn short? It really makes the classes look like an afterthought. 10 laps is pretty damn sad. Is it because of TV time concerns?

From www.crash.net:

Ellison to AMA Superbike.

Former WCM and Tech 3 MotoGP rider, James Ellison, has signed to ride a factory supported Honda for the Corona Extra team in the 2007 AMA Superbike championship.

After impressing on the underfunded WCM, Ellison got a 'dream' Yamaha ride with Herve Poncharal's satellite team, backed by Dunlop tyres, for 2006 - but the season turned into a nightmare, partly due to Ellison being the only M1 rider not to get the new chatter-free frame.

Instead, the Englishman rode the full season on the troublesome original 2006 chassis, taking a best finish of ninth at Catalunya on his way to 18th in the championship. Ellison took his lack of new parts with creditable tolerance, understanding that Yamaha was putting all its efforts behind Valentino Rossi's title challenge, and continued that professional attitude right to the end of the season - long after he had been told his contract would not be renewed for 2007.

Prior to joining MotoGP full time in 2005, Ellison won the British Superbike Cup championship (for privateer riders) in 2004, the World Endurance championship in 2003 and the European Superstock championship in 2000 and 2001.

I really doubt they could keep up, it's getting to the point where development can go no further on the 749 and the 999. I'm afraid this years BSB title battle will be between Kyio and Walker, the Dukes just won't get any faster now; but the Japanese bikes will.

I can't remember where I read it but I remember remember reading a rumor that there is a possibility of a factory supported 749 FX team. I think it was SuperBiasPlanet but I don't recall. That was a few weeks ago and haven't heard anything since so probably nothing.
