My point was that KTM aren’t going to ditch him, I see him on the factory KTM next year regardless, just not as the number 1 rider.

I believe KTM will honor his contract and I also believe he deserves that. He's just not championship material. They clearly love the guy and they know him so that says a lot for his value. KTM seem to be doing everything right but have yet to get over the final hurdle. I believe their time is coming.

You think that is something else than ”I think Brad had his day in the sun”?
Unless I was in a fugue state I wasn’t the one who said his day in the sun was over. My attitude to him is pretty similar to Bern 1’s.

His best days have mainly been in the rain as I implied anyway although I don’t think that was the point being made. I haven’t looked it up but Oliveira may have won more dry races on a KTM than he has.

The ongoing question has been whether Binder has been flattering the bike or the bike has been flattering him. Going by Acost’s results perhaps he hasn’t been demonstrating the bike’s full potential, but Acosta may be a generational talent akin to a young MM or . Rossi. As others have said it will be interesting to see how fast Pedrosa is on the coming race weekend, while extremely good he wasn’t an MM level rider even at his peak.

The other point is that Binder is very good in the rain, conditions which have traditionally been regarded as equalising equipment and allowing talent to shine. I am currently leaning towards him just being good in the rain.

Regardless I think he will be in a similar situation next year to this one. If MM goes to KTzm which I agree is unlikely unless there is evidence the KTM is the best bike to which DP’s form this weekend may be relevant I wouldn’t have him and Acosta on the same team if I was KTM.

Very interesting viewpoints in this thread on BB...
I honestly don't get it, but I'm not going to try and debate it anymore. Enjoy the racing!
We'll see where we stand at the end of the season

Well, the track aint slow. Alonso just beat the all time lap record for moto3 by 4 tenths of a second in FP1!

They are just opinions regarding BB.
He can ride rings around any on here so I am sure he wouldn't be concerned.
They are opinions unbacked by ability or inside knowledge.

Opinions that he might not be as good as MM, very definitely top 5 all time at the very least, or Acosta who may well prove to be in that tier as a rider as well, are hardly gross insults though.

Agreed, he is very bloody good. There are just others in the field who are insanely good. MM and it is looing like Pedro Acosta are 2.

If we can just start sinking the boots into Rossi again I'll join in. He was also very good but he was a .....

P1 results

Alex Marquez was the only rider to use a new soft tyre FYI.

Well Mav is fast again.
MM keeps looking like a fast lap but cant get out of the last corner
I don't think that will be a problem come race time. Its one off fast laps he is having a problem in that corner. I think he will be fine for the races.

Unexpected results this Friday. Ducati has 7 bikes in Q2. The factory KTM team has 0 bikes in Q2.

Morbidelli was the only Ducati rider to miss Q2, and Marini is turning slower laps than Bradl  Looks like MotoGP will have quite a few open seats in the next couple of seasons.

Was it just me, or was Bagnaia off the racing line a bit on the final corner that he secured P1 on? Maverick also seemed to be on wider lines in the longer corners. Could it be that the wider line is actually faster then the traditional racing line?

I haven't read recent posts due to spoilers so forgive me it it's been addressed but what's the drama between Pedrosa and Lorenzo the MotoGP commentators keep referring to? I thought I heard Lorenzo picked "Daniel" to do really well this weekend.
