Man.... it's a bit quiet here. Hope everybody is ok. Does this season feel like it's going on forever? Usually they just go by too fast.
Anybody done the math on how many more races Fabio needs to win to secure the title, if say Pecco finishes 2nd on those races.
Where are the math nerds? C'mon.

I'm just happy to hear Marc is back! Finally some leadership...
Fabio is very happy for this as he hopes Marc will help him against the ducks.

Agree with Evo on both points.

Aragon is usually really good. I already feel tired of the way the commentators repeatedly say Maaaaaaaark Maaaaaaaaaarquez and bang on about him like nobody else matters. And I'm a big MM93 fan lol I hope he has a nice, steady weekend, clicking off the kilometers and staying on the recovery path

With 150 points available, Marc Marquez (60) is the first rider technically unable to accrue the points to catch leader Fabio (211). It's really a two horse race between Pecco and Fabio, I can also envisage Bastianini surpassing Aleix for third.

If Pecco wins the next three races with Fabio 4th in same race that will leave Fabio on 250 points and Pecco on 256 with three races remaining. This shows how hard it will be for Pecco to close in on Fabio.

After it's all over, I suspect the decisive rounds for the protagonists are Argentina to Germany. Fabio with finishes 1,2,4,1,1 and Pecco losing out with 8,1,dnf,1,dnf,dnf in the same 5 rounds.

Interestingly, IF, Pecco wins every race and Fabio follows him on second every race they will be equal on 331 points. And Pecco smashing Fabio on a countback.

Mathematically, Fabio wins if he can reach 332 points. Averaging 20.16 points per race. Peccos maximum tally is 331.

We are in for a cracker closing of the season, probably the tightest battle for years.

In my opinion, this really is Quartararo's championship to lose.

I can't wait to witness it.

Hard to see Fabio getting a podium
He has Miller and Zarco in front, who usually take themselves out of the race on their own volition. P4 would be decent on such an anti-Yamaha track. He needs to make a good start however.

I wonder if Bestia will make Bags (and Domenicalli lol) nervous again.

True. Not a great race plan to rely on others ahead falling off to reach the podium.
Still, that is where he is with the yam against the dukes.

Yes, will be interesting to see how Enea and Pecco go.

Well, I don’t think that’s his race plan.
His race plan will be the same as it’s been for the last races: do the best he can with the hand he has been dealt. So far it’s working out: who’s leading the world championship?
Pecco, for his part is also doing the best he can, winning the last 4 races and on pole for this one.

I hope it’s the cracking race it’s shaping up to be!

It is probably not overtly his "plan". However it is basically what he will likely be relying on at this track.
He simply doesn't have the power to expect much better.
Fabio is riding very well but the Ducati is that much faster. Pecco, and enough of the others are able to utilise what it can deliver to leave him farked for the podium imo.
Hopefully I am wrong though, as I'd like to see him go back to back for the title this year

Well, that was a cracking race for the win. Both of those guys are coming into their own at this late stage, no real mistakes.

Gutted for Fabio, nothing he could do there. And he was hoping Marquez would help him!

Oh well, on to the next race!

Why wasn’t Marquez black flagged if his bike was damaged to that point?

Reading comments online, the usual (yellow) suspects are already seething about Marc as if he's riding with rearview mirrors. That's about the worst thing that gonna affect discourse for the next couple of weeks.

Nonetheless, cracking race, almost felt too short with all that sufficed, and Bestia putting his bollocks on the table. Ducati not to thrilled about it. Who could've expected this championship was gonna be a nail bitter 5 rounds ago?

What a fken ride by Basta. Loved it! 8)
What a ride. Superb.

Sorry about what happened to Fabio :(
Can't blame Marc though. The tyre loses traction so you close the throttle. Holding it open ain't going to work

The whiners are probably team yellow.
MM is a racer not a primadonna. He is out there to do the best he can, not trundle around for the fans.

Couldn’t watch, but heard the sound feed for most of the race. If it wasn’t the old irresponsible MM I am glad to hear it.

I guess Valentino deserves significant credit for the return of Italian riders to the front of the field, but so does Gigi. All the bike equalisation doesn’t seem to have stopped there being a fairly clearly dominant bike, sure with great riding talent as well. There is absolutely nothing FQ can do to win on a Yamaha particularly on tracks which suit the Ducati.

Well… that beginning was painful to watch. I’m of two minds re: Marquez’ start. I can see why he’d want to get to the front as quick as possible, and OTH - given that he has no shot at the championship, it was a way over ambitious move to make on cold tires. The kind of thing you’d expect from a newly.

Loved watching Basti and Pecco over those last few laps. The man in pink and purple is clearly is a hungry guy. Got pretty out of shape at moments, tho not as dramatic as Stoner’s excursions back in the day. Kind of an obvious thing to say, but those two will be interesting to watch next year. Pecco kind of seems like the new Lorenzo, riding so smoothly and much preferring to ride the race at the front right from the start. Tho, he doesn’t have Lorenzo’s fire. A bit of a cold fish really.

Just goes to show no changing colors on the Marquez fish. Saves, crashes, mind games, all still there. The talent and ability to stay at the front without causing anybody else harm? We’ll see.

I think Pecco is in great shape, much improved over the last two years.

Would have loved to seen what has happened without the MM-FQ race incident. Marquez was P6 (?) already after 3 turns... Might have took a podium,

Aleix salvaged a 3rd, barely being able to beat Binder and just hanging on in the world championship contention...one crash involving FQ and PB while fighting for the win and he could just have the little luck that one might need to win a championship... We will see how costly was his early 2nd place celebrations earlier this season....

“I lost the rear a little bit and closed the gas, but it was not a very big moment.

“I saw the images and the problem is that Fabio was super close, as is normal at the start.

“So it was a race incident, and very unlucky.”

Yeah they are his words but nonetheless it makes sense.
I did hear Lin Jarvis describe it as a "racing incident" during the telecast also.

“I felt something strange in Turn 5 and I said, ‘what's going on?’ But when I went into turn 6-7, I felt OK. Then in Turn 7, Nakagami overtook me on the inside and went wide. So then I was inside of him, already a little bit in front, and I engaged the holeshot [ride-height device, on the exit].

“As soon as I engaged the holeshot, I felt like the rear wheel was locking. I checked very carefully the images, and you can see that a piece [of bodywork] is going out from the fairing. And then when I felt it was locking, everything became crazy, and the bike had that rear lock, going to the left side, and no torque.
