Pencil him in for the win, it’s the fastest bike afterall. The handy thing about the pencil is it’s not permanent, it can be erased. Marquez’s name will be engraved permanently on the trophy, and all credit to him, he’s an amazing rider for sure. What won’t be engraved on the trophy though will be the miraculous efforts of Dovi. He explained something about riding the Ducati I found very revealing. Compared to the others, it still doesn’t turn. To compensate Dovi has to use more lean angle and this results in more tire wear. Every corner of every track on the calendar Dovi has to put in more effort because he’s at a disadvantage. His one advantage is to get to the exit and open that mighty throttle to unleash the beast.
I can’t believe there are still people who maintain this is an advantage. People actually believe Marquez was the one disadvantaged on the difficult Honda? It was amusing seeing Marquez run up and threaten to kick the Mishitelin front tire after his crash. Thing is he knows exactly why he crashed and just has to dial it down ever so slightly because he’s fastest. Compare that to say Stoners experience of riding a Ducati. A. When he lost the front of the pig he often didn’t know why, it gave no warning. B if he tried to dial it down it wouldn’t work, the bike gave him only one option, ride all out in that tiny window or finish 10th.
But Rossi fixed all that when he developed the Ducati into a Yamaha. Meanwhile Rossi is now busy developing the Yamaha into a pig Ducati. The commentators have an absolute hard on for the mentally destroyed Vinales. They can’t explain why he was able to dominate preseason and the first few races before the switch to tire 070. It’s inconcievable the Yamaha might of actually been developed for the softer tire. Someone needs to explain this to poor old Vinales. You’re championship run was derailed by your teammate after you showed him up. Let’s all welcome Vinales to the toxic environment. Upon reflection it’s amazing how good a rider Lorenzo must of been to have dealt with this year in year out and remained competitive. He might just help the Ducati turn a shade of blue some day, while Yamaha and Vinales are seeing red.
