Stoner's health issues

Stoner, on MotoGP.com, said that his only problem was arm pump. He overall fitness was fine as was the bike. He also said he was glad for Nicky and that his season has now started. Looks like he also has a new seating position which he likes and electronic package. So, he may need the forearm surgery or his season will be a long one. I expect he will go for one more race to see if it was only a temporary thing. I wouldn't doubt this guys fortitude for a second.

This is completely off topic, but …..

Many posts on this thread relate to Casey and his non affection to the mass of posters on this forum. It got me thinking about this site and what we may have been discussing (if it existed) in;

’88 … the middle of the Lawson years
’91 … the middle of the Rainey years
’96 … the middle of the Doohan years

I could go back further, but these are the years I fondly look back on!

It would be hard (ie impossible) to argue that any of the above had an extrovert personality like Rossi does. Were they good … .... yeah … they were the cream of the crop! Let’s face it, they are all boring as bat ....!

If we were posting on this site in the years I mentioned above, what would we be talking about?! IMO (that’s for you Gaz) … we’d be talking about hard racing, not personalities. I read most of the .... on this site and it is all about personalities. Who the .... cares!

Let me delve closer. The majority of posters on this forum are either; American, British or Australian. My utmost apologies to all the other nationalities that contribute interesting, thought provoking and intuitive posts on this site. Reality is, you are the minority. If this wasn’t an English speaking forum, I have no doubt there would be a lot more support and a lot of contradiction for a lot of topics here from (especially) Spanish posters. That’s just the way it is I suppose.

Nationalistic pride always exists and it does obviously does on this forum. The “yanks” here will push the Hayden and Edwards barrow (they should be pushing half because Colin is a half aussie), the Aussies the Stoner barrow and the Brits … .... … they have had nothing to cheer for, for a long time! Lot’s of support for JT, Scott Redding, Danny Webb and carrot top, but that’s all opportunistic … sorry but it’s true!

Where am I going …

Rossi tends to transcend all. He is the dominant personality, the dominant rider … the greatest of all time?!

It’s a bit like supporting Manchester United … the majority do … because they want to back a winner! Are they really passionate about the sport … that’s doubtful!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Ben Bostrom after surgery at Dr. Art Ting's clinic. He saw Stoner at the clinic as well. Stoner appears to have undergone compartment syndrome surgery, or at least has been opened up on both arms.

That is interesting, mabe, that imply's he may have had the surgery already. Dont see why not, jorge had his done and was riding within a few days if i remember correctly.

I remember during the race weekend that he was contemplating having the surgery after the QP session. It looks minor and Dr. Ting is no slouch. So, a couple weeks to recover and rest with some heavy supplements and he'll be ready to go. I think the wrist is the only question mark and he only complained about it's lack of range not pain if I remember correctly. I'm sure the good doctor gave that some attention as well.

I take it I am not the only one to find this a touch unbelievable?

And so since its Stoner , who you guys going to sook about? ...... the media?

No ..

Calm down and wait ...... thats what you'd do with Rossi, the media occasionally doesn't get it right, doesn't finish the story, only deals with a tiny part of the story, just makes .... up to sell to those who they think will eat what they print.

Just calm down and wait ....... its the racing thats important, not all this TV serial speculation

I don't know if any body told you yet but you always sook sook sook about Rossi, some time i do wonder that your blind hate for Rossi is alot more compare to love of Rossi fans.

You along side with Rockgod are biggest hypocrates on this forum and always try to undermine Rossi to make your boss(Stoner) look good.It looks like that both on payroll for stoner to defend him on this forum.

Stoner so far has achieved only one title in 8 years(125,250,990,800) compare to Rossi's 8 in 12 years. So stop comparing him with Rossi and give stoner few more years and then we will see where he stands.

Thanks Krusty, the recognition is appreciated (as is the fact that someone realises I am to lazy to type in my opinion).

I would say you and I have the sam opinions here as I have basically been saying this here and other places for a while (and copping a bit of flack at times) for what I simply believe is Stoner being measured against the Rossi personality.

By the way, Krusty - are you an ex-racer?

GS, he may have said that but on all the interviews I have seen he has mentioned that he was not as physically ill at the end of Laguna as he was the previous two races but put that down to the work of the doctors.

He does mention the arm-pump but in terms that it was the major problem at Laguna as it is predominantly a left hand circuit (as is Saschenring and he is not looking forward to that either).
