The guys got serious psychological problems. Hes the first self hating athlete in the history of athletes. Ive never seen such an accomplished athlete with less passion.

Riding off into the sunset seems like a dream but noone in their 20s will be content with that type of lifestyle for long.

Seriously?

LOL, Stoner is still butthurt about the lactose intolerence

and Ducati not having money

and CRTs in park firme

and nobody believing in him

STACEY MOANER...

Stoner may very well be better than Rossi but i guess now he is retiring we will never know. history will show 2 world championship will never be better that 7 and rightly so imo.

Your basing your judgement on the "your only as good as your last race" mentality.

Uh, will probably be 3 for Stoner, but...

And it's "you're"! Man, that drives me nuts! Sorry

I read the press, what reasons are you talking about? Very vague to me. Basically saying I don't like the changes in GP. My question, when has GP not changed? Just in a small amount of time, close to a decade its gone from 500 two-strokes, to 990s, to 800s, to 1000s to CRTs. Change is part of the game (for better or for worse).

I don't know, I'm just rambling right now, its a bit shocking to me. Casey is an awesome talent. Too soon. Why?

Way I see it he doesn't have to justify his decisions. It's his life. If he doesn't like the way MGP is going - he doesn't.

I agree... too soon. I've hoped against hope that one day Rossi would get back on a good bike and there'd be a

re-match. Guess it's not to be.

damn Pov...my Southern brother from another Mother....you been getting beat up lately....virutually beat up that is...cause ain't none of us on this forum tall enough to whack you up side the head....lol

Everybody is ten feet tall and bullet proof when their drunk, or on a keyboard. You really have something when your drunk, and on a keyboard. Superheros all !!!

Read my posts brain death, nowhere do I knock Stoner as a rider. Stoner is a fantastic rider, and a very successful rider who has beaten Rossi to the title twice. However, I think he is a moaning wee ...., and I think he fell to bits under pressure fae Rossi in 08.

Can you manage the big words in there?

No sorry, Spencer the first could win on a 250, my bad.

You are very transparent. You dont like him because he dethroned your hero. Come to think of it, your a bit like Rossi himself.

Keshav and Barry synchronised suicide in 5, 4, 3.....

Nino, Talpa and Rog simultaneous money shot.

Dude... been following the MotoGP since '79 when I had to telephone Duke on the IOM once a month to have VHS taps shipped to my house because there was no TV coverage of the sport. Didn't get frustrated and whinge like the Rossi-bois when Kenny, Freddie, Rainey, Eddie etc walked away from the sport. I'm not a fairweather fan like some here.

Yes, I already had this conversation about justification, he can give whatever reason, its his life, that's what I said. But not all reasons given will be judged the same, and frankly, that's what will be debated (rightly or wrongly). Just like the legacy threads. Nobody likes a quitter, as I've said before. Its a fine line between quitting and retiring, the reasons for doing so go a long way in making that distinction (rightly or wrongly). I fully suspect most of the debate to be along tribal lines. Its a fair discussion, and I'm not going to pretend its off limits simply because I think Stoner is a great talented rider. After all, its what we do around here, debate meaningless .....

Teh best MotoGP fan ever!

Wow Dude. Twas a light-hearted jest. Whassamatter? What's with all the blazing hostility these days?

I can assure you, the reply was meant to be witty. Well at least made me laugh old chap.

The problem is, most peeps take .... to heart around here. And the other problem is, you just can't see or hear the tone in which people type. For me, its usually smiling and laughing and casting out fishing lines.

+ sometimes people here are just ........ for no good reason

i appreciate this forum but theres a bad habbit of shooing new members away

Going to miss the PI slides the most. Bad news once again for MOTOGP fans.

Stoner actually said it wasn't exciting anymore actually echoing (in a way) what Rossi said not even a couple days ago. He chose to quit. I'm not going to hate him for it.

That takes balls to do it while you are the best....

Your best post ever.

I hate being put in the position to appear as a CS detractor, but there are always two sides. It also takes balls to continue despite one not liking arbitrary rules in a sport that has constantly changed. What would have we thought if Rossi had said after they went to four strokes, ah, I don't want to continue because I don't approve of the changes? Or, as most of use would agree, two-smokes were more exciting, etc. How about say Roberts? Or his Pedrosa would have decided to "retire" because the series went to 1000s? Or Rossi had thrown in the towel on the Duc? Change is part of the sport, and this is the reason Stoner gave. So as much as I respect his riding Kesh mi amigo, I don't see the implication of loftiness in it. But I'm open to listen. As I'm sure a few respectable members will make the case for it.

HMMMMM.....no comment.

wow, that is surprising to say the least. I'm actually a bit shocked. It certainly seems a little 'early' at 27, but I guess when you have a lot of cash and a new family, maybe a drive in V8 supercars lined up, perspectives change. Either that or Honda did a Yamaha and said; 'If you don't want two years then we are going the way of the future-Marquez'

I just hope they can get the Duck sorted before the end of the season so we might see a few more great battles.........or Lorenzo may just feel the need to be 'nice' is not required anymore.

You are a bitter bitter bopper Pete.

Clearly it chaps the ... of the Boppers that despite all their self-important derision that Stoner is immune to public opinion.

He's his own man, doesn't play the game and could give a .... about the opinions of the frat-boy Rossifumi. Listening to

the ungracious remarks about this great champion rider is like listening to ants jeer at an elephant. He has lived and realized

his dream and gone from being a little kid on a dirtbike to a world champion and as a grown-up had the integrity to reject

a lower standard of racing. Boppers can can stamp their feet in frustration because Casey Stoner can't be bothered to care

what they think. They can whine and make frat-boy jokes all they want. While they sit at their computers patting themselves

on the back and feeling self-important - Stoner has lived the dream and moved on.
