Rossi says relationship with Marquez “can never be recovered”

I found this hilarious.

“More than anything I allowed myself to be tricked by Marquez. He really betrayed me. He said he was a fan but those were all lies. I almost believed him and I was ready to have a rivalry with him, giving 100 percent on the track, but those were all lies on his end. At Assen I realised he was only my friend when he beats me.”

One does wonder what he is on; either that or he is 37 going on 7, if this is in the original English as has been posted rather than a translation.

Wednesday pre-event press conference line-up for QatarGP: Lorenzo, Rossi, Marquez, Pedrosa, Iannone and Viñales

any guess how seat arrangement would be?

That's not at all what I implied Pov. Don't be so pedantic. I'm saying MM won't go out of his way to play games with Rossi - but given the right circumstances- will get past him and go about the business of winning. And when circumstances dictate - he'll settle for points gains rather than half a season of DNFs.

And regardless of the custard crusaders willingness to turn a blind eye to Rossi's shenanigans - I think RD will be on notice to make smarter decisions; and Rossi, having tried every trick in the book to get decisions reversed in his favor - knows better the limits is his influence. He's really going to be under the microscope this year.

I agree that Marquez is ready to move on, but Rossi obviously is not. All it will take is for Rossi to pull a questionable move that takes out Marquez and its on. It only takes one of the two to start a fire.

Am I the only one who finds this bit somewhat disconcerting?

“When Senna raced I didn’t like him. I cheered for Nigel Mansell, and when he joined Ferrari, I cheered for Prost. But I really liked what Senna did at Suzuka in 1990. He was worked over the year before and then he did what he had to. He showed some balls.”

That's a possible omen of something to come imo...

When they used to have 5 riders on stage, it was always the championship leader in the middle. The winner of the last race on one side, and (I think) the second place man on the other. The rest would either be local riders or riders of note. The switch to a 6-rider press conference has broadly followed that pattern.

As this is the first conference of the year. Lorenzo will be wherever they decides is the middle, Rossi on one side, Marquez on the other, Pedrosa outside Rossi, Dovi and Viñales on the edges.

Jps can you enlighten me as to what this refers?

Senna believed he was screwed out of the 1989 F1 world championship when teammate Alain Prost deliberately turned in on him under braking into the Casio Chicane and they locked together. Senna was able to get his car disentangled from Prost's McLaren and get a push start through the runoff. He rejoined, came around, pitted for a new front wing. Got back on the track, took the victory...till Prost complained to the FIA that he had cut the corner, and wound up excluded from the race results. Even if the result had stood, Senna would have needed to win in Adelaide to secure the 89 title. But Prost became world champion at Suzuka because of the FIA decision he lobbied for.

A year later the title is coming down to the wire, and Senna can lock up the title at Suzuka. He wanted his starting position switched from the right side of the grid to the left side because the left side was the clean side, and Suzuka's pole sitter always started on the dirty side. The FIA declined. He felt he was going to be ...... out of the title, so he decided to put Prost off at the first corner...sound familiar? It was inexcusable behavior...he denied that being the intent till around October or November 1991 when he finally admitted to having punted Prost off intentionally. Set the standard for dirty driving as he was not punished for the move at all because the FIA backed off due to the 1989 fiasco.

Onboard from Nigel Mansell's Ferrari...

Perhaps instead of having Dovi and Viñales on the edges they could place Marc there so that Valentino can run him wide and kick him off stage if he dares to say anything that he doesn't approve of.

Ross says he would have rather been penalized at Sepang than starting last at Valencia. I guess that depends on what kind of penalty he thinks he could have got at Sepang other than black flag or DQ. Personally , I think he is still making excuses for choking late in the season and he inadvertently kind of admits it the same article when he says he would rather finish stronger than start the season strong. He knows he faltered, Marquez is just a handy crutch
On the rules changes:
http://gazzettaworld.gazzetta.it/interview/rossi-renew-calling-quits/
“I haven’t really understood what they’ve changed. However people have said that they never penalise me but that clearly isn’t the case. It would have been better to have been penalised in Malaysia than to have my chances ended in Valencia"

I think Rossi thinks being "penalized" in Sepang meant getting a ride through during the race (I doubt he believes he was DQ worthy). He is basically advancing the notion that he was disallowed to 'fight for the title fair and square' at Valencia.

I'm convinced had Rossi showed up at Valencia allowed to start where he qualified he would have torpedoed Lorenzo into turn one. Rossi had lost all reasonable thought and still today hasn't regained lucid thought process. Its quite amusing to me.

The interview was fairly decent until this part. I like how he says Marquez tricked him, I guess VR thought being a fan meant letting him pass.

Reminds me of the t-shirt Stoner wore after winning his 07 title which listed VR as one of his heroes. That turned out to be a lie too, because Rossi didn't believe it.

Not sure that MM is ready to move on at all, just that in public he is showing the right signs, in private I suspect that he is very happy to take the fight to Rossi and feed the flames of Rossi's perceived war

That said, he was an innocent party so does he really need to move on (asking rhetorically not at your comment)

Well, the word Rossi is in Capirossi

That along with this bit below is a big warning sign of the danger this boy poses to Marc or anybody that does not bend over for him.

“This means that this year I will be much stronger than last year, I will be very hard to beat.

And thats the way it should be. He did nothing wrong. Valentino Harding along with her support group did the deed to Nancy/Marc. See where this is going. If you cant beat them fair & square call in the backup.

I double dog dare anyone to read VR's comments with this song in the background and not have tears well up.

You know, I think Rossi is probably trying to make amends with Marquez.

Hello, it's Rossi
I was wondering if after all these months you'd like to meet
To go over everything
They say that time's supposed to heal ya
But I ain't done much healing

Hello, can you hear me
I'm in Tuvullia dreaming about who we used to be
When we were younger and free
I've forgotten how it felt before you fell out at my feet

There's such a difference between us
And a million miles

Hello from the other side
I must have called a thousand times
To tell you I'm sorry for everything that I've done
But when I call you never seem to be home

Hello from the outside
At least I can say that I've tried
To tell you I'm sorry for breaking your heart
But it don't matter it clearly doesn't tear you apart anymore

Hello, how are you?
It's so typical of me to talk about myself I'm sorry
I hope that you're well
Did you ever make it out of Valencia where nothing ever happened

It's no secret that the both of us
Are running out of time

More than anything I allowed myself to be tricked by Marquez. He really betrayed me. He said he was a fan but those were all lies. I almost believed him and I was ready to have a rivalry with him, giving 100 percent on the track, but those were all lies on his end. At Assen I realised he was only my friend when he beats me, but now I want to say....

Ooooohh, anymore
Ooooohh, anymore
Ooooohh, anymore
Anymore

Hello from the other side
I must have called a thousand times
To tell you I'm sorry for everything that I've done
But when I call you never seem to be home
Hello from the outside
At least I can say that I've tried
To tell you I'm sorry for breaking your heart
But it don't matter it clearly doesn't tear you apart anymore...

I'm sorry Marky.

Well , he did qualify 11th I think, that would have been one of the all time torpedo's from the 4 th row. Lol

ok, have now read the article and whilst we all have that piece we find interesting - mine is the show of intense vanity in:-

The only thing missing from Tavullia is a museum dedicated to you.

“We’re thinking about building one. We have a lot of material and something good could come from it. However there is still time to think about that.”

To me, it says a lot about the ego unless I am missing something in translation .............. now where is J4 to correct the english interpretation?.
