MotoGp - Gran Premio d'Italia 2017 - Spoilers

Someone should get Julian Ryder read those results out to Heuwen live on air. Maybe he'd stop for a moment or two from babbling on about "the doctor's playground".

Speaking of Huewen babbling the other night I was watching TT 2002 on DVD as it was the anniversary of DJ's death and just wanted to watch him at his prime again and it had Huewen and Ryder commentating which completely ruined the coverage, not so much Ryder but Huewen with his Huewenisms like "Mad Man Moodie!" "Lucky Lougher" and other needless inanae waffle like how it's impossible to have a dead heat at the TT.

Still enjoyed the race footage though, what a man.

Love him or not... got to say Rossi's impressive taking 2nd at his age after being banged up and going down in practice. His confidence hardly ever seems to lag.

Already speculating about how long, if ever, it will take for Lorenzo to bounce back, when he leaves Ducati. And WTF is going on with Zarco this weekend. With the Hondas doing ...., this should be his weekend to shine.

It's been a bit of a strange weekend. If the reports are true and Rossi does in fact have some issues with his ribs I would expect him to slow in the later parts of the race. I'm not fan but pushing through his pain to be able to have such a strong weekend so far has been impressive.

The guy always was a great rider.

The whole sport being hostage to his 8th/10th title for however many years now regardless of the talent of other riders is what is irksome. He never needed it for his legacy, people who are stern critics now mostly pretty much recognised him as the GOAT after the 2009 season anyway, if not before.

The fans were booing and whistling as Maverick was being interviewed after his pole. Suzi Perry also said the fans weren't happy at Rossi not being on pole too.
This stuff doesn't do Rossi any favours in the eyes of many non yellow fans.
Be interesting to see how they react if Rossi or another Italian doesn't win tomorrow.

Apparently, I am full of it, since Pedrosa was running around on a hard front. My excuse is that the tarmac is super hot this weekend. So there.

I am disappointed with Zarco's position. Perhaps he should have learned something from Dani and picked a harder front tire. I don't like it when MM isn't closer to the Yamaha boys. It scars me that the race will be boring. There wasn't much interest in the dual compound tire, it seems.

Anyway, Rossi was quite impressive in QP3

I first soured on Rossi when he punted Gibernau. But I forgave him. It's his crazy yellow fans that are really annoying. They make you want to hate the guy.

I'm liking the tributes from all the riders to Hayden

Disclaimer: posted while angry. Hopefully my point isn't lost on my poor expression.

It can't just be about Nicky can it? Rossi is a sympathy thief, an honor thief, a limelight thief. I had wondered how Rossi would make this awful tragedy about himself, I fully expected it. Rossi must highjack everything, even a "lap of honor" at his most dishonorable moments. Do you remember the tributes to Nicky Hayden at Valencia when he rode his last race in MotoGP? Of course not. It practically happened invisible and in silence. Do you remember Rossi's so called "lap of honor" that Dorna, who guards everything on youtube, was "kind enough" to let run for free? It's still up. Honor, that's insane. Tributes must be linked to Rossi for it to have some greater sick emotion, it's not enough that the greatest guy in the paddock died tragically, we must make even this about Rossi. There have been tributes on YouTube, Rossi’s friend RIP, images of Rossi...oh and Nicky. It was so predictably that Rossi would make this about himself and many swallow it whole. Did you forget Rossi is the guy who disparaged Nicky's championship and all his minions following suit? It's not hard to miss the theme, he's done it every ....... year poor Rossi has lost as opposed to win the championship. Name any rider that beat Rossi, that name has be vilified to a man. Nicky the fluke championship, who was responsible for this narrative? Prompting Nicky to put a defensive statement on his leathers, 'The Numbers Don't Lie'. Of all the people who've ever graced the GP paddock, Nicky Hayden needed a defense? How sick is that? Now in the most disgusting way, but so typical of Rossi, the guy who was the most responsible for causing a necessary defense of Nicky's championship is getting props for what exactly? Increasing his 46 brand so you can say oh how cool, I get it, that's so clever, 46 & 69, that's so sweet and heartwarming. Sarcasm.

Every time you see this plastered on the screen, think of this take on it: Rossi has stolen something here, and now this disgusting image of self-promotion will be immortalized in countless tributes, it's about Rossi, even Nicky's death is about Rossi! At Le Mans press conference, Nick Harris turned it over to Rossi to "speak for all of us", so "The Doctor" who called a 'doctor' reported Nicky's medical condition, the ....... absurdity! They will run this image and whatever else Rossi and Dorna have for tomorrow ad nauseam.

.... Rossi.

I thought that Iannones tribute helmet was a nice touch and turned out excellent. Much better than Rossis which for the most part I have a hard time disagreeing with Jumkie about. It's been a hard pill for me to swallow(as someone who isn't a diehard Hayden fan) watching the Valeban putting up tributes and advertising Hayden tribute merchandise when they for over a decade have attempted to devalue Hayden's greatest achievement.

Still not forgotten or forgiven by me. That was the last straw, after many examples of intimidation and crazy lines nowhere near the racing line meant to intimidate.

And it's not improved since.

Still got to hand it to him for qualifying position.

Rossi did enough shiet for me to turn sour on him even without his "fans". However it would help Rossi image tremendously to his "haters" if he just makes a statement to his "fans" that it's not cool to boo vinales or anybody who are faster than him , but nope, he didn't do it. He didn't do it before for MM, JL and he is not going to do it now. I guess he needs to get all the advantages he can get.

Maybe I misunderstood? There was a lap of honor for Hayden? I hadn't seen that. Can you post a link? All I see in your post is a screen shot of Rossi with a #69 on his helmet to honor Nicky. If the media is fixated on Rossi, that's their bad.
