Motogp: 2016 Round 4 Gran Premio Red Bull de España

Actually, speaking of underpaid hookers, that reminds me, MickD, you never got back to me on the finer points of ... tourism in Southeast Asia. Since you're feeling so chatty and high atm, maybe you could finally post a detailed pitch.

Life intervened... I literally thought of this exchange today. I will endeavour to explain when the chain saw stops invading my neocortex. Its 2:40 am here...

Hate him all you want, there's no denying his abilities.

His ability is not the question, it's the inflated recordbook. Lorenzo got a defective tire today, otherwise I suspect the pole might have been different. Either way, Rossi rode an excellent lap and got pole, party thanks to Michelin quality out-of-control.

Did you notice that Jorge was towing around the B-Team ducati's and he wasnt complaining about it?

Did you notice Viñalez was towing around Rossi on the last lap of qualifing at Austin? And Rossi wasn't complaining about it.

Remember this quote: "Lorenzo has a new fan, Marc Marquez."

Well, Rossi has a new fan, Maverick Viñalez.

Jesus, Valhector should just get on the rear seat of the Suzuki.

Listen, I know some of you angry brethren are old dogs, closer to Rossi's age than Marc's, or even past it. Don't you take any joy in seeing an old dog succeed in a young man's game??

NO! I dont like the smell of .....

Dude, No 1 makes perfect sense if you realise anyone can become incensed at another's actions based on their own preconceived misconceptions of a situation. Add a dash of privileged paranoia and you're good to go.

That doesn't make sense to me. Coming up with knowingly false accusations against a rider that's not even a title contender, and while he's leading the championship, is completely pointless. Rossi may not be everyone's favourite, but he's neither stupid or a madman.

Agreed. Rossi is none of that . It was just another mind game that went wrong for him.

Well, no one was towing Rossi around the final qualifying lap of Jerez. :)

Rossi 1st in q3. I think there are going to be some upset people on this forum tomorrow.

Why? All I wish for is close racing and a competitive championship and everyone to bring it home. I'd quite like Vale to win this tomorrow to keep the standings tight. That's the beauty of being neutral.

Hate him all you want, there's no denying his abilities.

Personally, I don't hate him and I've never denied his abilities either. It's ironic that those most preoccupied with 'hatred' seem to to be his greatest advocates.

It's "interesting" how quiet this forum gets when Rossi does well.

Only just finished watching all the days recorded sessions mate. Forum seems refreshingly vibrant to me. Won't be watching the racing live ether - the far from insignificant issue of a match to attend.

Some thoughts...

Fabulous lap by Rossi. He's been incredibly consistent all weekend. I can't see how this harder carcass rear is gong to favour Lorenzo tomorrow particularly if the forecast for higher temperatures is accurate. Great to see no fallers in the top class today - ideal track temp. had much to do wth that. Of course a greasier surface tomorrow will make Rossi even faster.

Those customer Honda's are ....... beastly.

Did anyone notice Norge's tribute to John Hinds again? Classy - what a good lad.

Maverick looks so relaxed on that Zook and I love the loose way he rides it.

Similarly Lowes speedway style into turn 1 slewing it out on the engine braking backing it in like the late Craig Jones. Beautiful to watch.

Great to see Suzy back and on form like she's never been away in 'Snoremula 1.'

Like I say. I'd quite like Rossi to win this to level things out. Whatever, should be a great race tomorrow providing the remainder of the Michelin tyre fitting crew don't succumb to this mystery bug.

I wasn't referring necessarily to you. But others will be upset if he wins tomorrow.

As much as I hope he does, I think the Spaniards will do their earnest to not let the Italian steal the Spanish GP.

Y'know ya can ..... about the all the other .... but 500s; 990s; 800s; 1000s. He has mastered them all. Maybe not a GOAT but a very talented man - probably more adaptable and able to change styles than any other rider in history. Drunk & high atm, but watching that vid I saw (though his black visor...) a ....... passionate and extremely talented 37 yr old doing what he does better than anyone else out there regardless of age (and tyre debates...LOL).

He is also the ONLY rider to have had the opportunity to ride all classes, which says a huge amount about his longevity and ability to remain injury free (wrist and leg withstanding) and does need to be taken to account.

You also forgot to mention 125/250cc as they should NOT be overlooked in the wider scheme of his longevity either.

Not many riders have had, will have or can have a 20 year career at the peak of their sport and it should not be relegated to obscurity because of perceptions of benefits ......... fact is, he has ridden well for 20 or so years, why stop?

Oh now I really see how this forum works!! First you accuse me of paying hookers with Pizza Hut coupons, then you accuse Vale of tax evasion. What's next boys??

Facts dear boy, facts ........ not an accusation

Check your history

EDIT (from memory only)
He was accused of tax evasion due to an act of his manager
Rossi did (or was reported) to have paid back a large sum (by mine and your standards) to the fax commissioner or whatever they are called to clear the matter (a penalty was negotiated)

I won't defend his actions regarding pushing Marc wide, but he simply didn't kick him off his bike. I've looked at hundreds of angles as I'm sure you have, and i just don't buy it.

I analysed it frame by frame but with an objective point of view, which I posted at the time. You can clearly see Rossi's weight transfer forward, propelled by the force of the kick.

Kudos to the old ....., he has put together a very nice weekend so far. It appears he is second to Lorenzo in race pace as Jorge threw down 8 straight laps in the 139's mostly mid 139's right out of the pits, and no one else was able to string more than 2 together and they were high 139's. If Rossi can beat Lorenzo to turn 1, he stands a chance, if Jorge leads lap 1, its more than likely over.
