Nick Harris: "Oh stop the booing!"

Nick Harris: "Lorenzo points to the booers as if to say, I finished the race in first."

The Michelin is ...., and Honda for the second year in a row has whiffed. The bike doesnt seem to have one strong point, and are having to gamble on tire choices to try and create one At this point, you have to ask if Ducati and Suzuki have both passed them in development. I believe if Marquez were on the Ducati, his results would be considerably better and if on the Suzuki at least as good and maybe a little better.

Any guesses as to why MM struggles with acceleration today at LeMans, yet at COTA which is another "stop & go" type of circuit he dominates easily?

Agree, Michelin are complete ..... That much is obvious to anyone watching.

I'm not so sure I'd place the blame on Honda's RCV, the Michelin tires has been deciding races. I don't quite blame Marquez &Dovizioso's crash on pushing. It looks to me like that front Michelin is a disaster. (Also, not sure how much responsibility that tarmac patch had on the double crash.)

The booing is sad.

The fans have a right to boo, but if you're going to boo, do it for a legitimate reason. Booing because you are mad that Lorenzo was the better rider down the stretch and didn't make a boneheaded move at Sepang, is not cause for booing. Typical Rossi trash fans.

Congrats to Lorenzo. Fantastic race. Considering so many crashers, this was extremely risky. I can relax until the finish knowing the front tire's unpredictability and miniscule margin for error.

Michelin fronts are complete ..... There is no way so many front end washouts makes sense in these conditions without the tire being the culprit.

Already 3 times we've seen double wash outs with the riders just barely escaping being T-boned by the machine. Only by sheer luck it hasn't happened. When it does I doubt we'll hear Michelin blamed. Not when Dorna have imposed their draconian gag order.

I had the same feeling. Silly old Nick Harris was calling the finishing order and toting up the championship standings with 5 or more laps to go. I had the feeling any rider could crash out at any time, with some more likely to do so than others of course.

Woman have a better chance at staying awake on a date with Bill Cosby then I did for that race.

The problem with the Honda is in their engine. They designed an engine that was focused on power, and this was an issue last year, only it the electronics were far better last year.

Taking a step back with the electronics this year has made it far more difficult to control the engine, which is why at Qatar more so than anywhere else, the bike was anemic coming out of the corners, in particular the final one onto the main straight. They dialed down the power because they can't get all of the power down consistently to the rear without the tire spinning. It's possible they will get it under control at some point during the season, but I'm not entirely sure if that will be the case, or if they may need to redesign the engine in the off-season. I wouldn't use COTA as a comparison as it's not as much of a stop-go circuit, and he matches up perfectly with that circuit.

I don't think the booing is nearly as bad as the cheering I heard when Marquez crashed. That just shows a lack of any class.

I'd be curious to see if the Ducati had a failing water pump or something. It looks like something is coming up off the tire on the replays. Could just be dirt, but I was wondering if it was something else like water or oil. Tandem crash was just weird. Could just be the crappy Michelin fronts too.

True. Same can be said of Lorenzo's four wins at LeMans. Not exactly a bogie track for Rossi either.

Over 1/3 of riders had a front end loss. It's obvious Michelin still have much work to do. I just hope no riders get seriously injured by these failures.

Yep, it is just his circuit, like another rider who could win on a particular circuit even on a Ducati GP 10.

I think the Honda was still very difficult to ride at the end of season 2015, MM just managed to ride around the problems, but was close to the edge the whole time, in contradiction to the various other theories.

If I'm not mistaken, did a good majority of Hondas and a few Ducatis suffer front end washouts last year also? Isn't this also where Alexis Esparagaro broke his wrist or whatever the hell he did last season? I would say the Michelin front is definitely not as good as the Bridgestone, but I think they are trying to make fast tires to break records and make their mark opposed to making tires that work well and improving from there. Poor decision making. Not so many years ago everyone was complaining about Bridgestone getting the boot when their tires weren't performing the way they thought they should.

JPS, interesting you can quote Keshav, but when he quoted you a god damn war almost erupted

Oh, I see what you did there. Clever. I find the "Troll" banner gets slapped on pretty quickly around here anymore. When he first came on this board spitting fire he was quickly revered. You guys give Krops a hard time about him running his board like a Hitler, Stalin, Kim Un/Il, ect but anytime someone has a differing opinion they are chastised and ganged up on or labeled a troll. So heaven forbid someone call his ... out. He was probably the most vocal about it is all. I do tend to forget how lopsided this forum is opinion-wise. I've always found you and JKD entertaining and insightful and you at least know a lot of these posters personally, so I could see your distaste for them. Well I know how the rest of this goes

Lorenzo is unstoppable in the dry
Rossi cut up the field like they were amateurs
Vinales did well to stay on his bike and get a podium
Michelin is ....

Can't wait for Mugello

Dude, look man, nobody is banning nobody around here. You get your say, everyone does thank god, that's a good thing. You've been around enough to know there was no need to start something back up. We're all quite aware of our interaction with each other. I don't think it was necessary, but as you rightly say, who am I to call you on it, except to call you on it. So let's just say it's a push.

As far as racing opinion, we all get to argue our side. Nobody is stopping Boppers to voice their opinion, it just so happens at this point in the forum their opinions are challenged. That's good too. I've tried to voice my opinions on many forums, I make a point of staying within their own rules, I get banned pretty quickly. This forum is an oasis in a sea of .....

Gbphantom, it's all good man.
