I have tried to post about riders coming back too quickly, including references to 1993 articles on Rainey's accident, twice but it wont let me post. So if I just say Casey is a .... will that work? If so I will go back to the points I was trying to make

 ....... pete. U crack me up buddy. Dude next year man. Save up now. No excuses. Gonna miss u at Laguns.

Right third time lucky!

Michael Scott did a great article in MCN this week about riders coming back too quick, saying how great Assen was for Jorge, but how badly it could have gone wrong.

It was written at the start of the week, before any of the events of the weekend unfolded

It reminded me of an article by Scott in Bike magazine back  93/94 where he talked of the whispers in the paddock of Rainey damaging a vertebrae in the weeks prior to his career ending crash at Misano. Possibly in a practice crash at Donny (Can Arrab or anyone else knowledgeable confirm this? Actually I'll stick to Arrab) and that Wayne came back too quick and finished his career in (from a rider's point of view) in the worst possible way.

To ensure this post gets posted I will say Casey rode like a girl an that Dorna made sure eveyone got pish tyres in 07 and 2011 because they wanted a special needs kid to get recognised as they dont do a paraGP.

I had to slag up that wee Maori .... Spencer or my post would not have appeared

Very true - he crashed on Saturday at Donington and we heard on the circuit commentary that he had damaged vertebrae when he rode on Sunday (I was there for both days).  It sticks in my mind as I remember discussing it as a possible reason with the other half after the fateful day at Misano 93.

Whilst looking for anything to confirm this, as peeps here like to ask for links, I found this gem on youtube : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiiLwEBIUHM&feature=fvwp&NR=1   Probably loads more out there which will keep me busy until the race tomorrow as MotoGP stuff only goes back so far!!

If that ....... ..... doesnt race tomorrow, he will never win a championship. Even if he only can pull off a 6-7 th the next couple of weeks, it will be the difference between being a champion or bridesmaid. If at all possible, he needs to race, just to prove to himself that he has what it takes. If he sits out tomorrow, he will  never recover mentally.

just doing some quick maths, if pedro rides and manages a top 10 finish, and our podium consists of rossi, marquez and crutchlow, which i think is highly likely and in that order, the championship will be up for grabs between all 5 of the top guys! rossi and crutchlow will be a tiny bit further back, but given any .... can happen, all of these blokes should be thinking very seriously about the wc :)

Did you hear how injured Cal is? His hands and arms are a mess, he did so damn well to get that result and he said himself he'll be lucky to get a podium tomorrow. From what I saw, he's not making excuses, no way.

Bradders still has issues with his finger injury and Hiro Aoyama has had a chunk of his finger amputated and two finger reconstructions. A lot of riders ride hurt.

On a more serious note, THE WAY he falls off once again shows Dani's inability to prevent from landing in the most dangerous/awkward/wrong way possible.

To me it's quite clear that whenever he's about to sufer a fall he enters panic mode (it's so clearly in his body language) so his brain can't take quick decisions like bouncing this way or rolling that way to protect a critical zone of the body. He just frozens in shock just starring at the possible landing spot waiting for it to happen (no, no, no, NO... Bang!, haha ), doing nothing to amortize the damage.

Again, it has to do with his mind. He's quite clearly a very nervous guy. He seems to find it dificult to keep a little calm and concentration in pressure situations (having an accident is one of those situations).

How many times have you crashed? How cool was your head and what did YOU do to avoid 'panic mode'. It must be good to have such a clear head in such a situation, especially when travelling so fast and when the off takes place in a fraction of a second. You are one tough hombre.

In my experience, crashing happens so fast you barely get the 'Oh ....!' out of the way. Sometimes, if you managed to get a lot of air, you can think 'it's gonna hurt!', but usually you are too busy worrying about the guys behind you running you over.

Edit: forgot to add - what a pile of ..... you wrote.

What do you think? And knowing Pedro there's a big chance he won't ride. Will he pass that med. test??

From the doc. <span style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"The problem he has now will be the same for Laguna Seca. The risk for displacement is the same if he falls tomorrow or if he falls in Laguna Seca. <span style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;The collarbone could become displaced but in three weeks it will be fully healed.”

<span style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;So, if he feels ok, it doesn't seem to matter whether he races here or not, breakage-wise. I suspect the tought little ...... will drag the leathers on, if only to match Jorge's effort last week. He can't afford to drop any points to Marquez and it is the chance to make a break (sic) on Lorenzo.

<span style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;He would be mad to miss it.

I was thinking this same thing today. This blows the WC wide open. We've already had 4 race winners this season and it could be 5 by this time tomorrow. This has been a very interesting year and it could continue to be so.

Yes and Marquez broke his finger and a toe the other weekend too and so on and so forth. I know a lot of riders ride injured, what I meant was, people shouldn't assume this is a perfect opportunity for Cal, he's injured too so if he doesn't get a great result that is probably why.

In fact I think this race it's easier to list those who aren't riding injured isn't it?

Clit agree about rookie season. Im talking now numbnuts. Cal has improved. Karl has been ...... so id say his performance has suffered. Put Karl on Cals bike, I think Cal beats him. All speculation of course. But that would be my prediction.

that, like everything else,  is based on jack .... right?

i get it though, in times where most likeable riders are dealt a .... hand we desperately prop up the normal average rider and ignore their constant talking.

god i wish CEII remained on that tech3 bike

Pedrosa not doing wup review on his condition later hes reporting being pretty dizzy

Hayden just binned it. nowt new there

moto2 pole sitter simeon trashed it in wup

wiliarot had a nasty off

i reckon they should pull him out. they reckon he is still dizzy from smacking his head. i wouldnt want to be riding near a bloke that has his head half screwed on.

Supposedly a compression fracture to T6. In practice for the San Marino GP.

Same vertebrae he snapped at Misano.

Agreed. If you can't do the warmup you shouldn't be on the grid for the race.
