Amazing race. Agree with all the comments that Rossi rode commandingly, Lorenzo is one hard b'tard, and Pedrosa was unimpressive today. Did Pedrosa try too hard to stay with Rossi and cook his tyres?

Re: the comments that the ART bikes are getting too good. It seems that only one of the ART bikes is getting too good, the one ridden by Espargaro.

Picture says it all, definately he was man of steel today!

<span style="font-size:14px;Pedrosa... he should have done what Rossi did, that is take full advantage of Lorenzo's handicap -- but he just couldn't deliver when the moment called for it<span style="font-size:14px;.

<span style="font-size:14px;That's Pedrosa's problem...

<span style="font-size:14px;To Jorge Lorenzo, chapeau!

You know I'm all about the conspiracies, but honestly, Rossi has shown he has the pace from time to time this year but has run into lots of bad luck.  I mentioned this before, and listed all the incidents that have masked his pace (bum fork, crash in tricky conditions, and Bautista).  I think he was on a win or close 2nd at Mugello until disaster struck.

I don't think there was anything suspect, simply the man stepped up when he knew he could be the hero of the day.  So good on him.  Also, factor in this is Assen, I can't remember of the top of my head but he has something like 6 wins here (something close to Mugello).  Its a place he has mastered and suits him.  Take a look again at his performance, notice how smooth he was around the track, its because Assen flows and is crazy fast.  I also expect VR to do well at PI.  Mark my words.

Totally agree about Pedro.

The development work must be done for next year at some point. I don't think any conspiracy is afoot. If Vale is developing the spec-ECU he is probably doing it voluntarily b/c he wants a jump on the field for 2014.

Of course, I could be reading too much into his performance, but it seems like the signs are present. Slow start at Qatar. Turned up the wick, ran out of gas. Seems unthinkable with the current u-learning electronics. Bad pace in qualifying when the power is 100%. Could be related to primitive electronics. Rossi wins as soon as Yamaha really need him to win.

Seems plausible to me, and he said he had some development mission during the preseason. Perhaps the recent setup improvements and the Assen-effect made the difference. We will see.

Thanks for that link Red, that is pure fun and enjoyment there ............... love the fun factor involved

Lorenzo is a class act, a true champion. I've stated before that he has grown on me and there are many reasons why. He has shown class when he has lost races. He learns from those events rather than throwing his toys out of the cot.

He treats others well, shows empathy when they are down. Some people say that it is good to hear someone who says what they think. That's what children do, adults have the self control to choose the time and place. Lorenzo seems like a genuine person who doesn't just think about himself.

He is one of the toughest if not the toughest riders when injured, mental strength shows that he is a true champion. Thoroughly deserves all the successes he achieves and a master at his occupation.

Few beers, and ive got to say Jorge is a ....... legend.

Anyone can be champion with the right bike but it takes days like today to make a legend.

Jorge has cemented his place in history and if he wins this years championship, everyone will recall this moment.

Butter my hammer.  :drunk:

What I'm laughing about is the compete lack of post for a race thread on race day, because all the boners and other haters can't face the board. Geonerd must be walking round Wal Mart writing "like " on everything, because he certainly won't like the fact that plenty of folk here who are not Rossi fans are giving the guy props for a great performance. Barry and co will be absent until Casy wins a race in his Cavalier SRi and tell u how awesome he is. Yawn.

Not at all. Good luck and well done to Rossi, he looked right on it and capable of winning the whole weekend, and now he has won may have regained his old confidence and win more. As others have said maybe it has taken him this long to get Jorge's bike more to his liking, and he has had bad luck as well. Imo he has also had to work his way back to trusting a bike on the limit, having ridden a bike for 2 years in which such trust would have been misplaced.

I could point out that no-one hitherto has made any reference to Stoner except you, and recall the relentless criticism you and many others made of him and his riding of the Ducati for a number of years, at least the latter it would seem also misplaced.

Jorge also again demonstrated what an epically tough human being he is.

Welcome back Pete!!

I think you will find that there may be a "geographical" reason we "boners" didn't get on here extolling the virtues of Stoners virtual win at Assen 2013 ( ie. if Rossi won ........ Stoner would have lapped them all    )

"Why aren't all the Boners on here posting in the early hours of the morn??''' get real Pete ......... even for you this is pure "Rogile"

( to be honest I was going to stay up for the race but F1 sent me off to lalahland ...... glad i set the recorder .......... I got to watch it this morning at 11am )

oh and where are all the boppers replying to my post  now eh?? .......

Wow ....... how about return of the Boppers  ........... you may be suffering premature ejaculation ..........

and Pedrophobes!! ........... you may be suffering premature ejaculation .......... especially with Sachsenring coming up next ......... in any case I'd be worried about how your "homeboy" as going rather than poking sticks at the current WC leader!!. Attrocious run

I can honestly see were the saying "win on Sunday sell bikes on Monday" comes from ......... thank god ( Stoner ) that Rossi is not on a Zundapp!!!

there's a few more rounds left yet folks calm down,

J-Lo P5!  No new engine, I assume.  So much for the story that Yamaha was in trouble.

Imagine this ..... Lorenzo gets hurt on thur. ..... new engine sitting in box  .........

well maybe Rossi should use it!???

I gotta admit he looked uncommonly fast on the straights today ............. but then again winners tend to do that

.......... getting that Pete!!??

Somebody broke Pedrobot. Rossi boppers must be going mad over this but we all know if Lorenzo didn't break his collar bone he would've won with Rossi in 2nd.
