Misano or Mugello?

Hello folks,

I'm just curious if I could get any feedback from here. I'm looking to go to either Misano or Mugello and was wondering if anyone has been to either? Looking for suggestions as I'll be staying for more than just the race so I'd like to see some sights as well. Thanks for any input.

Sorry if this is in the wrong area... mods if it is feel free to move it. I see now there's another subsection I hadn't noticed when I posted this

Never been to either place, but all accounts I've heard is that Mugello is the place to go.

Great circuit layout to boot as well. If I had to pick between the two, I'd go to Mugello over Misano.

I'd got for Mugello as well as I've been twice. Fantastic track and the atmosphere is electric.

Misano is right near da beach. If you are a Marco Simoncelli fan or Rossi fan thats the place to be. The circuit is named for marco and not far from Rossi's hometown.

Thee mod doesn't mind. You dont happen to sell kitchen units, or perhaps another type of unit, erectile dysfunction meditations perhar? However, for god(s) sake, just don't misbehave, because then you'll be in a world of hate.

Mugello. Misano is just a bootleg Mugello.

My vote goes to Misano big time. I usually go the week before so I can have a beach holiday: in the past I've been to Misano itself, Cattolica and Gabicce and loved them all.
This year I stayed in Rimini because I wanted to do the Roman sites and next year I'll probably stay near Ravenna to see the mosaics: a bit farther away, but on the train is just 1 hour.

I've been to Mugello once as well and it's sort of convenient (1 hour drive) if you want to have a holiday in Florence. However when I was there in July 2012, it was extremely hot in Florence and I didn't enjoy it much. And overflowing with tourists. If you want to see Florence I recommend going between October and March.

I hope you don't mind me asking, but if you want to see the sights, what are you doing on the beach?
Unless of course you are admiring the flabby ..../arsed, beer gut, bleached skin weirdo's. ;)

I don't even know why I'm wasting time replying, but anyway... if you stay for a week there is plenty of time to do the beach and the sights. For example this year in Rimini it took us only 20 minutes walk to get to the Roman sites from the beach.
P.S. I think you have watched too many episodes of Benidorm ;)

Where's Benidorm? certainly ain't in Italy!

TBO I'd rather see the sights that waste a week on a beach. Cassino is well worth a visit as is Pisa out of season.

Your description "flabby ..../arsed, beer gut, bleached skin weirdo's" was a perfect description of the Benidorm TV show. That's why I mentioned it.
Sounds like you have never been to Emilia-Romagna and its beaches.

Cassino and Pisa are beautiful, no doubt about it, but there is more to Italy than Tuscany, so for me the Misano race is a perfect excuse to explore new places. And yes, I also like relaxing on the beach: I don't think it's a waste of time. Each to their own.

for a first time better mugello, as a racetrack it cant be compared though for the fans attending the race maybe misano is better, you can see more .. the atmosphere and general feeling is great in both if you are a fan of valentino of course
and if you get yourself a bike tuscany is great, the ride actually connecting those two through forli is nice.. visit sienna and san gimignano as well in tuscany
and if you go with a girl after the race you could stay maybe at mulino delle pile she'd love it :p

Been to most places in Italy over the last 40 years. My favourite area is around Foggia, the people IMO are the very best Italians.

YOu owe it to yourself to check out Favignana, Lampedusa, and Pantelleria. I think you'd like the beaches and enjoy the relaxation there as well.

Thanks for the replies folks. Definitely some things to consider. I wouldn't just go for the race, it's a double whammy taking the lady for a couple week vacation. I was hoping to see Milano at least while there too. Possibly Venice. I've started to do some research but this thread definitely provided some things to look at track wise. Oh and of course I'm a Rossi fan. Have been for a long long time.

Oh and p.s. the best Italians are Sicilians. Ask me how I know :p
