You're being sarcastic right?......hang on, wait a minute, you're serious aren't you

I thought that was one of the funniest post ever that myself!!!!!!!!

I love the way that if a point is made by a Rossi fan it's "just a fan boy" but if it's a fan of someone who has never won a race it's more credible. I take it to really understand GP you have to like the less sucessful riders or at the very least, not the guy who has rewritten the record books. Even sadder when a lot of the Rossi fans on here are fans because we have followed the guy from 125s through until the present day.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Haga @ Mar 27 2009, 09:38 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Mamola was the best thing about Eurosport's commentary the past couple of years because he is probably the fairest and most unbiased commentator in motorsport. Just because he doesn't kiss Vale's arse like Parrish, Cox and Moody it doesn't mean he's crap, it just means that you're a biast Rossi fan which seems to be the norm with British motorcycle racing fans in Britain nowerdays.

I will greatly miss Randy and I will have my fingers crossed that Eurosport sign him up for 2010 and even replace Moody with Keith Heuwen to make the ultimate commentary team of Heuwen, Ryder and Mamola.

Get real !

I always got the feeling that Mamola was a firm believer that Rossi was untouchable, the greatest. He would always sing him praise. I got the feeling that he was excited, like the rest of us without googles, that someone could actually challenge him.

Then you felt wrong ! mamola only ever praises rossi when pushed into a corner, He sucks ducati ..... But thats ok, Fairs fair. it would be boring if everyone supported the same rider/manufacturer. Theres enough jurnos who like to suck rossi .... !

well said Pete

I'm a bit biased in favour of mamola, as I was brought up with a dad who was a big mamola fan, so from a young age, i've always thought that mamola was cool. But if you put this aside, I think Randy's comments are very insightful, he has good relationships with the majority of the paddock and has ridden all the bikes at some point. When you listen to him, it generally sounds like he's having fun. I love commentators who love the sport and get that message across. I'm not too keen on martin brundle in f1, because he always sounds like it's just a job to him, although he knows his stuff. And who cares if a commentator has a favourite rider/brand, he wouldn't be a fan would he, if he didn't have his favourites. A lot of people on here don't seem to like little tony elias, but you guys don't complain when Ryder always refers to him as little tiger tony.

I don't think i'll particularly miss Mamola on the TV coverage but i have always found him very entertaining, i think he plays his role excellently. I don't think he is particually favorable or unfavorable to any of the top riders, but he is prone to making a sensation out of everything good. That's all part of the entertainment though, he is very rareley (if ever) unpleasant , unfair or negative about any of the riders.
