Le Man Race Discussion *SPOILER*

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (gui22a @ May 20 2007, 01:37 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Who Stoner was fighting in the pit lane before change the bike?
You made it (boxes) sound like the podium.

As for pit lane. It is a mess (look how Barros almost took out a crew member)! ANYTHING can happen in pit lane. It is the 2nd time they have done it. It needs something to be done to make it safer.

Doesnt matter, what really matter is that Rossi down from 1st to 4th BEFORE getting the suspicious tires. Then i ask you, where was Rossi skills in rain since he had a good tire in first half of race?

Let's see, the track was getting wet, right? Everyone is on slicks, right? It is only 10 laps into the race, right? What do you do? Keep pushing the limit of your slicks?

I wouldn't!!!

smart decision, typical from those who finish in 6th.

Ah, i think i know...fans will say: tire problems.

To be honest, at least from pyschological part, it wouldn't a bad idea.
its hardly an excuse when the whole world and his wife (except you) could plainly see his tyre falling apart.
i think its a little silly trying to compare tyres in a race like this where conditions were imposable to get any sort of real set up or tyre choice. after all dunlops lead the race for a while.
your boy rode a great race and deserved to win but i dont think your qualified to cast judgment on a 7 times world champ and his team, all your doing is gloating and we have a name for people like that on this forum "mindless cheerleader"

cracking race!

i temporarily love edwards, the only rider ever to have pole and get lapped i think thats quite an acheivement!
<

shame about Hayden though, best ride all year as well

...who says Dani cant ride in the wet, teh!

Athough I choose Casey how my fav rider, doesnt means I die for him like some for Rossi. And I only choose him because he is riding my fav bike, since Capirossi is leaving.

Im not qualified to judge Yamaha, but since when to judge = to complain?

I like Rossi a lot and admire all his work, but im not getting knocking my head in wall when simply he miss the pace and the race or get some bad lucky, or get some wrong choices.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (mjpartyboy @ May 20 2007, 09:57 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>It was great to see Vermeulen and Suzuki get a victory.

Yamaha need to get more power and Michelin need to sort out their tyres.
1st really intelligent comment on rossi's lack of wins this year - 8-12 mph down on top speed and 2 disintegrating tires in 5 races

well mate, i admire anybody who raced a gp bike in those conditions and any body who got to see the chequered flag is truly a hero in my eyes.
sometimes we get races like this where nothing realy makes sence. i dont think any bike is built for that, the riders just have to do the best they can by improvising .
all im saying is how dare you say rossi is using the old tyre excuse and is fans blindly except it when we all saw it with our own eyes. ive followed gp for 25 years so im not easly fooled . but i do trust my own eyes.

It was very doubtful he would have won in turkey using anything that said Michelin on the side, even if it did work

This is true, but lets just say that i'm not going to explain Rossi's performance using a wild leap of faith about a faulty tire when there is basically no evidence to support that theory.

if it were just word of mouth tom you would have a point, but you could see it chucking a strip of rubber off. dont ya just love that camera that looks at the rear tyre. it makes it a fact not an opinion mate.mabe you missed that camera shot,if you did watch out for it when they repeat it on eurosport.

Man, i also saw and I admited that his rain tire got flayed, just read my comments in last pages.

I saw it, but it happens in every race. Pieces of rubber detach very often without affecting the tires performance. What is more reliable to me is interviews from Brivio, JB and Rossi where they mention nothing of tire failure and mention only a poor setup/tire choice. They definitely would have mentioned if there was a serious problem.

A far more realistic explanation for the result is that Rossi didn't get it together at a high enough level this weekend, its been a tough one for Rossi because lets face it, he is human too.

Rossi doesnt run the entire race with a sucker tire and I didnt see him doing anything with the good one.

Please, read my entire comment, not only the extremes.

wtf...he was leading the race before the heavens opened, what more do you want from the bloke.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Tom @ May 20 2007, 08:52 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>All was not well, but Rossi made a lot of errors today, when the man he is up against first and foremost made none again. Michelin tires were not that bad since Pedrosa of all people got one to 4th. Todays problems lied with tire choice, setup and riding for Rossi, and they are all things that he has at least some control over. I was disappointed not to see the wet weather genius he is supposed to be

What I said was that his riding was good. He did not make mistakes he did everyting possible to stay in the race, and to do that he was on the limit for the second half of the race. He was sliding like I never seen anyone sliding in the rain and saving it.
Sure, someone ...... up big time, but that was not my point.

ok its true, but within the context he is the best rainy rider out there and has 7 champs tittle and is the doctor and is the guy to beat and etc, when the rain comes, the only thing he did was to commit mistakes.
