Yeah, I think know the stretch you mean. It seems to me that WSBK uses a number of tracks that motoGP doesn't. Whether this is contractural, conflicting with other races or some other reasons I'm not sure.
As for the Italians knowing about safety, ever been on the roads over there?

I would guess they don't want direct comparisons to track times. Though at some places like Qatar (though now they went to night racing) and PI they have no choice.

Yeah, actually been to Italy, and yes they drive crazy. Reminds me of Mexico. Anyway, I mention this track because somebody mentioned safety commissions and what is at stake.
