I think the design is pretty good.....as a rider I'm sure it might seem a little hairball, but as a spectator, it looks to be a lot of fun.....I'll be there in September, so I'll let you know. But they'll fix the issues that Ben said it has before the opener.

Apparently that issue is addressed with a suitably slow final corner. The only way the wall is likely to see action is if Hector Barbera gets wild, and they have pitwalls on all of the homestraights anyway so that wouldnt be a Indy specific issue. I'd be very surprised if a brand new track, with all the work that has been done especially for motogp would fall short of FIM safetey standards.

If you really thought concern for safetey is the act of a ".....", Rossi certainly wouldn't be your favorite rider. As a figurehead in the safetey commission and one of the most safetey concious riders out there, he would naturally be the biggest ..... of them all.

Exactly....the Dorna crew have visited the track multiple times during all levels of production, so if they saw something that wasn't right...they'd have nipped it in the bud then...

Hello.

I'm new to the forum. Went out to watch testing yesterday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and loved seeing the bikes on the track.

Shot a video to share with you of turns 1-10.

Testing Video

I'm heading out to the track.

What a piece of .... track. Looks like fontana or something. I just do not like running track that run inside an oval, it is a joke to me.

I used to think the same thing but after watching that video (thanks for posting BTW) the thought occurred to me: What's the difference between that and Valencia? Other than the obvious atmosphere and beauty aspect. But essentially Valencia is a giant stadium engulfing the track, just like Indy. Indy just happens to be enclosed by an oval track within a stadium. It's actually kinda cool.

i think we should at least them them race there before we pass judgement on the track.

So you don't like Motegi then right

I was thinking about that when I saw the post about the wall being dangerous....its the same in Valencia, Mugello, Jerez....just about every track....Indy may not be like the Tuscan valley, but it sure has historical significance.....i like it.....plus the sound of those bikes at 15k rpm comin off the throttle into turn 1, echoing off the wall...is going to be insane....

Who was it that made a comment about the grass at Laguna Seca. Well damn, look at the grass over there at Indy.
