Greatest rivalry ever ?

Not even a good rivalry, Jorge has lost his fight, and Pedrosa is second rung at best.

3rd or 4th best rider in the world is second rung. Where does that put every other rider in the world

Rog vs Jum.

nah thats like casey vs dani

no fun when they get along in the end
<

Yeah, it's pretty ...... up when your arch enemy ends up your best man at your wedding hahaha. rossi fans and Haydenettes had our battles but most ended up mates in the end. After all we did share the same passion. I think some of the riders after time discover this about there rival competitors.

motorcycle people = good people

(i'm glad the current top riders respect each other, i don't support the theory that those guys need to hate each other,it even messes up the forums)

on topic : i thought rossi vs biaggi in 2001 was quite entertaining

It's all about how the individual finds the motivation needed. Some its money, some its fame. It can be hatred, seeking new records to break ect ect. Where all different and do what works for us.

personally i dont like to see too much hatred or too much respect on track. With rosso vs Biaggi and gibbers i think it was a two way thing. Remember the qatar grid spot sweeping row?

blurry memory but didnt gibernau and his team just wanted to do the same but were refused the right and then rossi got penalized?

if i recall correctly rossi did not even care whether gibernau made complaints, he just needed a reason to not be friends with him anymore or something along those lines

i think at the moment its fine,we still get to see passes when possible ( i thought laguna 2011 was a hard one on jorge, let alone dani in the corkscrew), problem is though that for example in estoril jorge never came close enough to attempt a proper pass that would not include risking a fall/taking out stoner

Several swept their grid spots due to the sand. IIRC a few teams swept with brooms where as rossi's was swept with a crew members boot but only one rider was grassed up lol Gibbers was a .... who didn't exactly endear himself to some of his fellow riders or fans. Remember 05 motegi?

My point is a lot of rivalry's and hatred can sometimes be the result of on and off track ..... The press also like to stir this .... making matters worse. When you read "he said this about you" in the press this can manifest on track. Does it make the racing better or worse? Well all i can say is in my 6 or 7 years on this forum ive learned a lot of race fans do love some drama
<

motegi 05?

The reason i bought this race up all be it off topic was to show the piece of .... gibber was and any disrespect for him on track was imho more than likely justified. Krop will not agree with me though but i guess we all see things differently, which is why places like this thrive lol.

what happened in motegi ?can't remember, maybe i didn't watch. whatever it was it was after jerez
<

Well i could give you my opinion, but to be fair we don't often agree. It maybe more believable for you if you find that race to watch and read up on the aftermath. By the way it didn't involve Rossi.

maaaaaan, just tell me what happened its not like i don't believe a word youre saying
<

don't know where i can find that race and as a gibbers fan you've made me curious

Ok i will give it to you in brief and bear in mind in talking from memory not google.

The sport was still reeling in 05 from the death of Kato a couple of seasons before. Gibbers never missed an opportunity to remind everybody of his team mate by whining about dangers as he saw them or by touching the #74 on his leathers every time he won a race or got poll. At first it looked respectful but after a while one wondered whether he was using this tragedy in some way.

Motegi 05.

Tamada and gibbers were racing for a podium. Both racing on the brakes at turn 11, Tamada having the inside line and gibbers trying to out brake on the out side. Tamadi won and gibbers ended up in the gravel. Tamada finished 3rd and gibbers had to retire.

Gibbers then went to Paul Butler screaming foul play by Tamada. Being Gibbers was Kato's ex team mate and nerves were still raw Tamada was punished quite heavily. I think he has points deducted or race ban i cant remember. It was very controversial and some time later Paul Butler admitted Tamada should not have been punished and it was a regrettable over reaction.

Imo and was my thoughts at the time, gibbers used Katos death to his own advantage, something implied by Paul Butler when saying the over reaction was as a result of Katos death.

Kato and Gibbers were only team mates for one race, The race Kato lost his life.

Oh and by the way, Gibbers crashed out 7 times that season during races. Thats more than Stoner in 07.

Rog vs Jum.

Ah hahaha.
<
Well done sir. That actually made me LOL.

Well...I'm not sure how this lame journalist gets "rivalry" out of these three standing on the podium. All that tells me is that the parity in this class is ..... Two manufactures left, and a third posing as one. Even when the other two Jap brands were in it, were they any more contenders than the best of the CRTs today? Most of these trio podiums have come in the last two years straight. The point of .... parity couldn't be made any more clear. Wtf. Like somebody said above, there has to be a bit of outword expression that you really want to beat the other guy, so far its only shown to be a circle jerk where Pedrosa has Jorge's and Casey's dicks in his hand.

Greatest rivalry? Really, we are going to debate this? Schwantz vs Rainey. End of thread.
