Looks like Dovi has lost the #1 rider settings this weekend and has been given the #7 on the pecking order Honda settings to give Dani a chance of beating him.

Was trying to think of the last time Loris completed anything without falling off.

Looks like we could be in for some 240km/h 2wheel drifting like last year if the weather stays dry.

Qualifying was probably the most boring of the whole season. Hope the race is not the same. Perhaps we will see Spies get his first podium at a real race track.

Pedro out ....... bummer. He's a tough bugger and gives it a real go, but I guess sense must prevail some times.

You haven't been paying attention? It literally means "small world" in Spanish. But in this case its used as a term to denote a diminutive championship between Lorenzo and Rossi. No not the real championship, some other one for the remainder of the races that Rossi returned to action. Its a concept proposed by Rossi's fan club. You can ask J4rno or Talpa, as they know more about this "private championship". The mystery of course was when it was suppose to start. Some said after Rossi returned, then it was Misano, then it got delayed to Aragon, etc. I think the man was proposing it start at Motegi...

Wrong, again.... "Mundialito" does not mean "little world" (that is a nice definition for some mental environments that manifest on this kind of subjects
<
).

"Mundial" means "of the world", -- assuming a championship.

"Mundialito" is a diminutive of Mundial, so the actual meaning is "mini championship of the world".

It has been a common term among sport journalists in Europe for almost two decades, following the Football (soccer) World Cup held in Spain in 1982, which was called "Mundial". It has often been used since for other sports,-- in motorcycling notably during the "mundialito de la pizza" between Rossi and Barros in 2002 (won by Barros). Rossi bought pizza for Barros and his friends
<

It is very easy to understand why Lorenzo does not like the "mundialito" idea, just as it is easy to understand why Rossi haters are so eager to dismiss it, even if there have been plenty of signs Rossi's chances of winning it were really slim.

Fear rules, it makes people completely unable to relax and take things a bit less seriously, that's the problem -- isn't it
<

he should have never turned up

No way! The warm Australian sunshine will do his injuries good!
<

Pedro is pretty liked here, mayhaps he came for the "love".
<

Who knowshe might wing it to Cairns, or somewhere else warm, for a few days and recoup a bit.

Interesting news ......... Iveco ..... a FIAT company has picked up Stoner for two years ....... wonder if its part of the new Hinda team dealio?

Jorge is the 2010 champion. He won it & deserves it. Whether you like it or not that's what the record books will always say.

Even if Vale or Casey or Pedrosa win all the remaining races it means didley squat. Because they weren't good enough to beat Lorenzo over the whole year.

Is that in Newy? cos I just got back from there tonight ( pies n Hotdogs at Harry's CdW's with the kids ) the weather upthere was pretty good compared to back on the C Coast. Wind was howling down here and yet hardly a breese up there.

Yup. It was pretty bad up here today we thought, but obviously nothing compared to PI!

(and love Harry's, their Tiger pie is my favourite pie of all time)

Anyway, on topic- Spies + Lorenzo (my 2 favourite MotoGP riders) on the front row is great, Stoner first???? Not a big fan of him, but it's his home race so good on him

Exactly. The BBC commentators summed it up brilliantly sometime yesterday (during either 125 or MotoGP FP1 I think)- people can say that Lorenzo wouldn't have won the championship if Rossi hadn't been injured or if Pedrosa had been on form all year. Yes, they might have done so, but the fact stands they didn't- Lorenzo didn't make mistakes, he was on form all year, he didn't get injured. So he (like every other champion) deserves it fully IMO.

Not really related to your comment and this is probably more aimed at my friends IRL, but I just dislike how some fans think that Lorenzo isn't "good enough" or got it all "by luck". Luck is an element in every rider's championship, but Lorenzo has displayed a helluva lot of skill this year too!

You apparently miss the playful spirit of keeping up some sort of semi-serious challenge even after a title is decided.
<

Rossi's 2002 title was not diminished in its value because Barros won his mundialito and Rossi paid for a pizza --
<

Capirex n Pedro both out 15 start in FailGp Sunday Points Earned anyone
<
<

yea and whateva happens he's still 2nd in the standings
<

? Well no, thats why he tried to ride. He is only 47, 48, and 49 points in front of the three guys who could make up the points in the next few rounds.

2nd is not settled yet by any means, but I must admit I think he will get it, and I'm kinda hoping for him to get it.

Well no, 2002 was the year folk where saying that it was pretty unfair with Rossi on the RCV and many others of "talent" on much lesser bikes. The talk was that Barros on an RCV could have beaten Rossi, so when he got one at the end of the season ........ the performance of Barros was better( Pizza or not ). There was a lot more pertinence in that "Gelato" than this year with the two riders on identical bikes and Lorenzo taking out the WC and all "MondayGelatos" except the one that ran between the day before Sepang to the day after
<
<

Hence any talk of Monialatos has been relegated to the realms of hocum and wishful thinking on the part of the boppers. As was proved by Lorenzo. Or does he need to declare "Game Over" after each round

Surely its not even worth bothering with folk who entertain the thought. Fact is that in trying to catch up with Lorenzo this year Rossi fell and injured himself, ie. he was not up to Lorenzo's pace. Same could be said of Pedrosa and Stoner ........ only their fans aren't as "creative" with reality

You don't get it. But you are so obviously biased, it's not surprising...

What is missing between Lorenzo and Rossi is that playful spirit that was there between Rossi and Barros: they both agreed to bet on a pizza as prize for their mundialito in 2002. The spirit is what matters, they both played along. Can we imagine Lorenzo accepting a pizza challenge with Valentino in the same way? No. See how tense he was at the simple mention of it...
