AUSTRALIAN GP: Phillip Island 2010

The pre-event press conference ended hilariously. Who is the guy that asked Lorenzo about the "Mundialito"? (And why is he in the 'press' room?) Anyway, Lorenzo looked a bit confused and said, I don't know anything about this "mundialito". Dude asking question (who seems to have a delay in brain to mouth signal, as he struggled to spit out words) says, well its the small championship for the remaining races. Jorge says, he doesn't know what he's taking about but the championship has been won and now there are three races left, then shakes his head like saying, WTF.

If anybody has ever wondered about the earnest authenticity of reporting and bias for some in the sport, I think you just got a peek. I'm glad we got peeps like Kropo around here.

I find it a bit amazing that after the moderator opens it up for questions, most journs (if there were any even in the room) had zero questions to ask, except this one dude. Uhm, ...., guys, nobody has anything legit to ask?

If Dorna wanted to draw some viewers, they could announce a couple million dollar bonus for whoever scores the most points in the last 3 races, open to everyone, not just Rossi and Lorenzo

Can we have no more talk about some ........ Mundialito? There isn't and has never been one. Jorge showed that in his answers... although he may have been hit with another bout of amnesia.

Tapls, dude, please man. Exactly how was this "perpetrating ........" if we are commenting on a silly and asinine question asked in a serious tone in an official press conference? Why are you calling out the person commenting rather than the ridiculous question?

My point is, that many here I'm sure, including me, are sick to death of the usual ........ arguments circulated around Rossi-and in this case including Jorge. I don't think anyone really cares about any Mudialito anymore, and bringing up a stupid journo's question in regards to it is dumber than the question itself, reinforcing its ridiculousness.

The two previous race threads were nothing short of abysmal-with you and Povol right in the middle of it. Ugly mate-just ugly.

I'm sure Woody was just attempting to cut you off prematurely, and I for one not only hope for a great race this weekend, but a good discussion around it. Troll free

You haven't been paying attention? It literally means "small world" in Spanish. But in this case its used as a term to denote a diminutive championship between Lorenzo and Rossi. No not the real championship, some other one for the remainder of the races that Rossi returned to action. Its a concept proposed by Rossi's fan club. You can ask J4rno or Talpa, as they know more about this "private championship". The mystery of course was when it was suppose to start. Some said after Rossi returned, then it was Misano, then it got delayed to Aragon, etc. I think the man was proposing it start at Motegi...

It means 'small or mini championship'. I don't see what the big deal some of you guys have against the mundialito. Nobody takes it serious, its jsut supposed to be some fun little side competition. Its no different then you and some friends playing a game of basketball at the park, the game ends, one of you loses of course, but you still have some time left so you do a real quick 'first to 3 baskets' sort of thing.

As for the journaIist, I'd like to say he is the same one that kept harassing stoner at every round this year about whether he signed with Honda or not. It also sounded like the same one that asked if Vale gave Lorenzo any advice on how to ride safely for the championship in malaysia, which I found a bit hilarious. The guy is definitely a character, but sometimes it helps liven things up. There is a reason Nick Harris waits as long as he can until giving him the microphone though

99% of all your posts are: "oh look, the haters are posting." That is insightful? Nobody cares about mundialito? What? After you and J4rno defended it so much?

Here is what really happened. This ..... in the press room brings up a ........ concept that YOU and J4rno defended to the hilt. But after testing your insane idea among sane people here, you then realized how silly it made you look, then started the eventual backpedaling. You are trying to deflect from this because you are trying to burry the memory of something that exposes what a complete ..... you are buddy.

Here is what you should have said instead of being belligerent, you should have said; "yeah, what a stupid question. It was a dumb idea and I admit it. Lets move on." But you instead asked for a reaction, and now I'm suppose to believe all you want is a benign discussion?

Well if that's what you want, don't go saying stupid things clown.

To be honest they are lucky they are almost at sea level, at altitude there are a few places even up here North of Syd. that are going below zeroC ...... obscure when two days ago here it was near 35 in places.

Glad I'm not having a mundialato ( or a gelato for that matter .... its not gelato weather at all

) with the traffic at PI

I agree Yello, among a friendly match, yes. But you and I know that's not what it turns into. It ends up being post after .... post belittling the real champ (as I've seen it done twice before). Most commonly becomes a validation for a ........ claim that the real champ 'only' won because...(insert 'what if' reason here).

funny Lorenzo shrugged of the "mini championship" question and idea from that reporter.....yet didn't Lorenzo lay down the challenge of once the title is clinched he will race hard for the last three races......basically saying "Let's get It On!!" aimed at Rossi but open to anyone.

That weather at PI has got to suck .... I don't even want to knwo what the wind chill is at 180 mph!!

Any rider running heated grips this weekend??

Sun's out, in an Antarctic kinda way, should get drier ( more like freeze dried ).

Listening to the 125's, the sound even sounds cold, those who have spent a cold morning at a race track will know what I mean
