About being tiresome, excuse me Kesh, but it is you and Mental inflicting on everybody this obsession that Ducati cheated etc. etc. And you still insist even if it's clear that all the rest of the world has understood since ages that there is an agreement and it's all ok, and nobody could care less. How would you call that kind of attitude.

I told you long ago that there was a verbal agreement that would be ratified at Estoril. It is now confirmed beyond doubt. It's time to let this issue die, believe me Keshav.

Me...? I let it die a while ago. Some while back I said that it looked like you're right. What kept me feeling suspicious for a long time was the fact that Ducati released a video with no sound - which made me wonder if in fact fact they were testing the 800 under the guise of testing the 1000. And strictly speaking - the bike they tested (as per their own PR) was the 2012 engine in the 2011 chassis - which strictly speaking - does not constitute a 2012 bike. This is what Gavin Emmet was chuckling about because in essence they were using this outing to work on improvements for the 2011 chassis - which is illegal. Since the bike was not gone over by scrutineers - we'll never know.

Today at the opening of the new Silverstone complex / wing "Mr i can do anything" enjoyed himself

at the ceremonial opening of the new Silverstone Wing, the brand new pit, paddock and conference center complex, an event attended by a host of racing greats past and present,

Rossi joined the festivities and used the occasion to grab three hours of track time on a Ducati 1198SP World Superbike machine. Unfortunately for the Italian, the WSBK machine developed an electrical problem after just 4 laps, and so Ducati, seizing the opportunity, immediately shipped in a 1098 streetbike - complete with license plate, turn signals and mirrors - for the Italian to use while his team worked on correcting the problem with the WSBK bike. In the end,

Rossi put in some 30 laps on the two machines, before lapping the track with Formula One driver Mark Webber in the Australian's Porsche GT2 RS.
