We didn't have that dilemma as F1 was shown live, and motogp was a delayed telecast...
CONGRATS TO THE MASTER OF SPA: KIMI RAIKKONEN!
<

I'm also very very happy with Raikkonen's victory!!!
Winning SPA is always nice, great to see him do that the last 3 races there. Spa is not only a beautiful track, but also a driver's circuit. That's what I love most about it, and Eau Rouge of course!!!!
<

Wasn't a super interesting race. Maybe boring is the right word, but being a Kimi fan, it's always interesting till the end, cause you never know when/if his engine will blow!!
<

I guess from the current grid, he is the MASTER OF SPA
<

But the real masters are still Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna, who won it 6 and 5 times respectively.

I enjoyed the battle between Heikki and Nick, and Heikki and Kubica. At least some battles were going on.

Alonso's move was indeed a bit questionable to some. I personally think that's part of racing, a bit of hard racing is what we need, but I'm sure if Lewis did the same to Alonso it would have been EVIL (right Teo???
<
<
).

The WDC is really exciting, the gap is only 2 points!!!!!

Japan will be interesting!!!
<

I watched F1, didn't yeah there wasn't any overtaking, and I didn't expect it anyways, since the cars were already in their natural order of speed at the start. Still Spa-Francorchamps is a beautiful track and probably the best, and watching drivers and cars fly around it is enough for me to watch it.

To have overtaking you'll need mainly cars that are non-dependant on down-force, like bikes are. That is not going to happen anytime soon, but at least next year there will be no TC so that should help overtaking cause some drivers will accelerate better than others and some will manage their tyres better than others

No, it seemed to me, perfectly legal, only one direction change in the straight and using up all the space in the corner, which he's entitled to do since he is ahead. Race direction obviously didn't even consider investigating an incident cause there wasn't such.

Lewis really should look at what he's done lately in the starts (jumping the chicane at Monza, changing direction 3 times in US GP start straight ...) before complaining. He's been as ruthless as anyone.

I guess all this whining and mistakes is just the pressure starting to affect him.

Pretty standard F1 race, fortunate it was on a far from standard track. Some of the battles lower down the order were excellent, particularly both the BMW's antics. Ferrari had this on day one, but Kimi drove perfectly all weekend so the win was his. I was happy to see ALonso driving better than Lewis again, but i'm still not totally convinced it will last. This championship is intense

Quote from The Eagles : Lets Kill all the lawyers.... Lets kill 'em tonight.....

http://www.fia.com/mediacentre/Press_Relea.../190907-01.html

Have just spent the last couple of hours reading the transcript from the July hearing and from the one released today. Don't bother reading the July one - it was calm and balanced in comparison. The last one makes me so mad - this hearing brings F1 so far into disrepute and shows up the Ferrari sycophancy so much that I want to puke. If you can contain your temper and read it then it's a bit like watching a train crash - you just can't look away. I am convinced that if any of the F1 sponsors could be ased reading this they'd run like fck.

THIS IS STILL A FERRARI BENEFIT, not a contest of engineer against engineer let alone driver against driver.

Thankyou and Fck Off F1

Rant over - 1 bottle of wine wasted in this effort!

Long live Moto GP - even with the "boring" races this year it knocks F1 into a cocked hat. BTW I have followed F1 since 1985.....

On a slightly less ranty note...

Final comment from McLaren :

With the greatest of respect, the question is not: can McLaren prove that it has not used Ferrari’s confidential information, but rather the opposite. Is it established, to the standard that the President himself suggested was appropriate, and that is a very high standard indeed, that we did use the
information? Of course not. How can it? We are left with the suspicion that the President has, based on the slightly theatrical run-through of those pages, as he stood up and showed everyone the two files. The suspicion that there is probably something in there. Fine. Then the response is not bring us back here, let alone throw us out of the championships. Rather, you bring in Mr Whiting. We have issued an invitation, and it remains on the table. Do not draw conclusions against us. Tell Charlie Whiting to go into McLaren to go into the organisation and not return until, having checked
it from top to bottom, he is satisfied that no use has occurred. That has not happened; I don’t know why. I do, however, know that if you convict us today without the FIA having done that, that will be the grossest misjustice in my professional experience.

Thoughts?

Anyone staying up late to watch the Japanese GP? It could be a cracker of a race, a mile long straight SHOULD allow overtaking and there's a 85% chance of rain for sunday!
<

What time is the (train) race actually? Tv guide says early morning where i am (2hrs ahead of you tom) so is that a replay?

Sweet
<
i'm often up then anyway. I'll be up for it!

Just thought i'd mention: i'm gonna be really upset if Hamilton doesn't become formula trainrace world champion this season!

Hamilton has started making a habbit of running his mouth and being quite arrogant in the press. Its bit of a shame because he seemed so nice when he didn't say much. Still, hes been driving well today so maybe his tiny dip in form has passed. Things look closer at the top then they have been, so i'm pretty excited to see how it pans out.

Also, i will definitely be getting up early to watch the race and qualifying live, i HATE re-runs.

Great race at the weekend btw. Best train race of the season. Shame button got into difficulties. Could have been an English Finnish top 4!

Well done Heikki!
<
is he signed up for next year yet?
