This could be interesting tomorrow. Hopper finally getting a pole position. With all the injuries, could be his day tomorrow. Rossi also could benefit if he can ride and get some points.....Seems to all depend on where Hayden finishes.....what do you guys think?

Congrats to the Hopper though I felt sorry for Nakano, he was so close to his maiden pole.

I don't know if Rossi will race tomorrow, today he wasn't really ready to race, and Capirossi seemed quite out of form.

Hoffman did pretty well IMO.

With Rossi, Capirossi and Melandri out of contention I'm gonna make sure my Nicky for Champion bet is in a safe place.

Never know Teo....I think Rossi will get a few points...I think he just came out today to literally qualify....then go to the clinica to work out a setup that would allow him to lessen the pressure on his hand....
Hopkins was great though....I just hope he doesn't get over zealous and slide out.....

Toby Hirst of www.superbikeplanet.com said that "His (Rossi) participation in the Dutch TT is now in doubt."

On another note, I'm completely shocked that Melandri completed 24 laps, although he did no more than four laps at a time. Looks like he has a race pacer in the low 1'38s. That seems to be pretty one par with what Hopkins, Nakano, Hayden and Pedrosa were doing. Edwards put together a string of six consecutive laps of mid 1'37s. If he can keep his race pace in the mid 1'37s for the start of the race, the rest of the field will have trouble keeping up.

i think he'll skip the race. 25 laps... broken hand.... ain't gonna happen. cappirossi not lookin to good either

Congrats to John!

I think some teams/riders avoid the TQ. Mainly Camel, Repsol, and Marco's(?) team are always good at looking like they are still trying with many set ups. It's a mind game

I guess we'll have to see tomorrow....I just think that he wouldn't have bothered qualifying if he wasn't going to give it a go....Dr. Costa came over and made a suggestion on the clip-on...maybe that was for the race, because they never adjusted the bar-end for the QP.....

I can't help but think that Rossi is saying to himself "hopefully Hayden will slide out and Edwards/Hopkins will take the win so I don't slide down the standings...."

you have to realize that if the pain returns at anytime during the race, he won't finish in the points. so it would serve no purpose to go out. can he race without pain to the most important part of his racing body. your right hand? front break & throttle. pain instead of that all important feeling. it would be a herculean effort! possible? anything is possible. likely?

loris is in the same boat

QP aint mind games. 18th aint mind games. Rossi knows theres no win coming out of this race now, he`s not trying to play mind games on anybody. He`s not God, even in full health he couldn`t win a race like this from the back of the grid. And as for Hopper, I wouldn`t be getting too excited. CV has a Pole on the Suzuki to his name, but come race day its still a Bridgestone Shitzuki. Strong finish maybe, podium not out of the question, but a win is a long shot. Edwards, Pedrosa and Hayden`s bikes are too good.

This is a big chance for Nicky to blow open his Championship lead to the tune of 20 or more points. That would make this VERY hard for Rossi, boost the Kentucky Kid`s confidence with a win outside the US, and perhaps spur on a few more wins in the next few races. Also a good chance for Marco to claw back some points and get closer to Rossi and Capirossi. I don`t mean to take anything away from Rossi or Capriex, they`ve both done outstanding considering their relative states, but Melandri is really impressing me. Really tough, he`s getting a lot of respect from me, maybe even turning into a bit of a Marco fan. There`s still a lot of scrapping going on in this championship. I`m thinking by the closing stages it will be down to Hayden and Rossi. And all of a sudden, Hayden dosen`t look like the sitting duck trying to scramble away from the dominant Doctor anymore. Go Nicky. I`d love to see him leave this season with the number 1 plate.

Sorry Richo....the only way Hayden could beat Rossi....is if Rossi broke his hand.....ohh wait...he did.....in my opinion...the only way to BE the best...is to BEAT...the best.....Rossi may not be a God, but tell that to his 5 GP Championships in a row to Hayden's single victory....Everyone's luck changes....skill doesn't....I wouldn't be too proud of a victory here if I were most of these guys....its like saying you beat a guy that wasn't even there.....
And also, as I recall this year...Rossi did move up the field from 14th to 5th.....then his tire fell apart...so if anyone can do something from 18 on the grid with a busted hand.......you know who it is....

<

thats the only way nicky was gunna get a number one plate with rossi out of luck with engine, tyre, and injuries, i really do like it when u say go nicky go nicky when rossi is injured, a fit rossi a fit bike and yes nicky where r u? yes behind the docter, hey nicky is good thow so calm down..

Frost.....I'll worship anyone that can start from 18th on the grid with a broken hand and finish in 8th running 1:37's on race tires......write me a list of anyone else on the grid that can do that......it should be pretty short.

Melandri raced injured today and finished good. Don't know his time ...

correct me if i'm wrong
I do remember that one time Loris broke his hand in warm-up and finnished on a podium .

All injured riders wre the heroes of the day...Can't anyone argue with that?
Marco, Rossi and Loris...

Nicky was very very lucky to win this one....Colin did some mistakes on the end of the race...
He took advantage of the condition of his rivals...both Rossi and Loris ware injured ....so he extended the lead..to 46 points in front of No 46 Rossi.

I think Rossi will strike back...Hayden won't win this chmpionship...that easily...
Sure as a Capper's fan i hope loris can fight back and be involved in this championship race..even win it....but it's now more and more unlikely. Sure my hope will die last....
I still say rossi is the contendent no 1 for the title...then nicky then loris then dani....and don't forget about the steel man Melandri..

You Rossi fans need to calm down a bit. Winner I never thought you were the type to get your panties up in a bunch like that.

When I look at the championship I always think of it from a mathematical point of view first. I don`t know why, it`s just a habit. I always consider points the most important factor, because they win the championship. I know Rossi is better than Hayden but my comment was refering to the points table. When Rossi has bad luck Hayden can extend his gap, making it ever harder for Rossi to catch up. Hence, on the points table, with a 46 point lead (Ironic, ain`t it?), Hayden dosen`t look like a sitting duck to a back in business Rossi anymore.

also funny is the fact that in order for Rossi to take the all time number of victories in GP history.....he'd need............how many......to beat Agostini.......69

<

Dont think Rossi will be beating that record. Even winning ten races a season it`ll take him until he`s what? 35 years old? Unless he does it like Agonisti did and races in 125s, 250s and MotoGP at the same time
<
Unlikely. That`d take way too much energy and Yamaha haven`t had anything competitive in the small bore classes since Tech 3 left.
