Best season in a long time?

What a joke, this is ..... compared to 06.

Agreed, 06 was the best season in years for so many reasons. 2007 doesn't come close imo.

Are Rossi's best racing days behind him? Is a new generation of riders going to take over? I wonder.

this question should have it own thread
<

but i would say no far from it....

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(raven46 @ Aug 2 2007, 02:28 AM) <div class='quotemain'>
this is the right attitude

im a proud rossi fan but i enjoyed seeing casey win each of his races this year, i saw his potential last year and i liked him straight away only if he could've kept the thing upright more
<
before that i always tought the ped had the upper hand on casey

casey has rode a killer race most of the season so far apart form germany and that was wrong tyre choice he admitted he made the wrong choice at the end of the race and just got on with it, he has always rode fair even when rossi was pushing to the limit and and attacking him for the lead he held his cool and won the race
he deserves every win, never made a mistake that cost him unlike rossi

one can say he has a better package but they should be saying yamaha/rossi has a worse package and i say well done to ducati they got it right from the start of the season and have kept it going strong

ye all know this so i think all the rossi and casey begrudgers should pull their heads out of their arse's

imo its the best season in a long time

Thanks raven46...and I really MEAN WHAT I SAID!!!...as Rossi was my Numero Uno!!! Before Casey came onto the motoGP scene! Val is still my sentimental favourite!!! And I have all the respect for him...he’s a great guy! Funny, he respects all his fans, a great rider and a great champion!!!..He’s an example to all future champs and how they should be and act (except Lorenzo, he copies Val to much!!!) but Casey really respects Val!!! Please just look at their persona whenever they are together!!!

Interestingly, Rossi's crew chief, Australian Jerry Burgess, is in favour of keeping the rules as they are.
"The tyre rule has not been the main reason for Valentino not winning races this season," he said enigmatically, "I like the rule, it's equal for everyone and think it should stay."

I'm certain that quote is from a post race interview at Le Mans. Either that or he is repeating himself, because I distinctly remember him saying the exact same thing to motogp.com. The interview should still be there

EDIT:Actually I'm thinking it was on the BBC now

now your talking my language matey, and im inclined to agree about stoner respecting rossi, thats the way i see it but then you see these post's/new reports about casey saying this and thjat about rossi ans vise verser, ....... jurno's making .... up to give them something to write about and keep them in work, .... those .......s would turn our beloved motogp into a ....... soap opera if it makes them more money.

Debateable.

His peak was 05, he's leveled off since then.

he didn't "level off" he changed bike/team.
rossi rode the honda and was winning everything, biaggi said "ok big guy, thats swap bikes and see how well you do on the yam piece of ...." the rest is history.
you must have a short memory my friend.

Yeah. I noticed that Rossi has been winging a lot this season. Maybe because everything isn't going his way.

i also remember he won the championship in 04, 05, that's hardly leveling off, infact he pretty much pulled off the imposable with those wins, dont you think ??

Pulled off the Impossible, very likely.

The point is he hasn't been as consistent since the end of 05, rider or machinery related.

Occasionaly, at a track, I don't ride on the road.

Why is this important?

Cause..a rider of Rossis' caliber does not lose his speed easily...it would be one thing if he had major injuries year in and year out...like Schwants, Doohan, Rainy, etc etc....Rossi's only what, 27?...he hasn't lost .......

Hell i'm at the track once a month...I beat younger guys, some beat me...but i also get my ... handed to me by old guys...there's a 60 year old man i've ran against...and let me tell you...i can't keep that old fart in my sight for long...
<

all i'm saying is..if any of you think VR has lost his mojo, edge, balls, whatever..you're sorely mistaken...

Props to Stoner, cause he's riding his ... off....but saying a MULTI world champion with records out the wazzo has lost it..is just plain ignorant.
