you think....

Well, there you go Rossi, you have it served on a plate.Too bad for the championship, but Stoner only had a slim chance at it anyway.Rossi more or less had to have a DNF with technical troubles for Stoner to have a chance at the title before this happened. And i don't think there is a chance in hell Yamaha would let that happen,so congratulations to the title!

It was good to see Capirossi on the podium again.I was kind of waiting for his tires to go bad in the second half of the race but they didn't.This is good for the races to come.
Elias second!I'm not sure it's only because of bike and tires. The same with West, even though the Kawasaki seem to be much better.
A big part of these results was ofcourse Michelin, but what were Toseland and Edwards doing?
Maybe they didn't have enough time to dial in their improved bikes, don't know.Edwards is known for being fast when every thing is perfect and capitalise on it.But he is also known to be very slow when every ting isn't 100%.In my opinion Edwards is an absolute perfect testrider, but not the best rider for sure.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (roger-m @ Aug 17 2008, 08:41 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>i think he deserved an "i told you so" after all there were plenty who thought they new more about tyres than him last year, they have all gone pretty quite now tho

now come on rog you know that rue was more about his strong armin tactics to get the tires than the actual switch.

thats true. eurosport AND bbc said the same thing

rossi bitched about that too in the interview with suzi that HIS tire was a lot better

Yep Vale said it when he spoke with Suzie Perry

Is Stoner & the Duc still the fatest package?
If so is the championship really over?
Rossi binned it last race under pressure in 2006 against Hayden.
Hayden on the Honda was not as competitive as Stoner on the Duke.
Is Rossi now cruising or under prssure?

<

that was boring.

the tests tomorrow and tuesday will probably be more exciting. as for a control tyre, you just saw what would happen if that rule was passed. the only difference would be that there would be different riders strung out in a line. IMO, setup would make the biggest difference instead of tyre variations. net result? the same old people at the front with little or no close battles for the lead.

well done to all the riders. no injuries to any and some gritty performances by a few but, the championship is now pretty much a foregone conclusion barring injury. Rossi has one hand on the trophy and will not be caught IMO by valencia...
these 800s really do suck..........

Thanks for the link! It's always better to hear the riders themselves.

I doubt the disparity between Michelin and Bridgestone would have been so great had there been more dry practice time. They had limited options what with the few dry practices. And if I'm not mistaken this has been a Bridgestone track in general. A certain amount of luck has to be factored in.

nice race i meant the battle for the second place
<
, nice to see Rossi having 1 hand on the championship tittle, too bad Casey went down, i dunno but I always thought he was goin to crash sometime, like has been said TC problem maybe? , let's wait for Misano
<

Not a great race, I was looking forward to a battle between Rossi and Stoner, but once Casey fell it was back to watching the midpack tussle.
I spent the last few laps cheering Randy on, Pedrosa suffering the ignominy of being beaten to the last point by RDP after having binned it would have been sweet. And he so nearly did it.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Helix @ Aug 17 2008, 03:03 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Rossi's interview with Suzi is here

Was he being sarcastic here that Stoner was given something new before him or does he think Stoner is making the wrong choice going with this tyre.

Even as a Rossi fan I was disappointed about Stoner. I wanted to see another battle because I reckon Rossi would have reeled him in in the second half of the race.

I got the impression that he first commented that he and Stoner used different tires and that he almost always use harder tires, because that fits his riding.(He said before that that was one of the reasons why he changed to Bridgestones. They are better at harder carcasses or something, anyway he prefers harder tires than fo example Stoner)
The think he said about "choosing the right tire then"must have been the change from Michelin to Bridgestone. That's how i understood his comments anyway.

Me too.

Wow. The race was Okay but full of insight:
1) shinya Nakano - Wow the Factory bike is just that good Huh? I was impressed to see him come through the field and pass the other factory riders and just smother the other Hondas. Makes you wonder what he would do if he had a full factory ride from the start.

2) Kawasaki. I guess you guys finally got the bike handling issues sorted. It should not have taken this long. Westy! Great ride. I guess when you are confident on the bike you truly deserve to be on the grid - it shows.

3) What the hell did Ducati do to upgrade the satellite bikes? Elias made a real go of the entire race. He put all other Bridgestone riders on notice (including the Factory teams) with his storm from the back of the pack. I am hearing Barros' comments on the factory team vs the satellite team. It looks like the Alice team has had to make do with the crapy state of the bike until now.
--- Just in time for Elias to try and save his ride----

Speaking of savng your ride... All of the riders on the bubble road like there was no tomorrow.
