Then when we got to Valencia Rossi crashed out and voila the impossible just became possible. On a side note when writing this I remembered Haydens face when he won and that look was just aweful. I guess I will love to see that if he is winning for Ducati next year. I am a big fan but, .... I will be one of his biggest fans if he is on a Duc. I'll be yellin come on sour puss win face!!

Yes it does!
Rossi won ,did a fantastic race.Stoner overrode his bike, didn't have the setting right for that speed, and made a mistake.End of story!
These test times maybe tell a little about what the race would look like if there was no rain on the weekend.Well we will see tomorrow.Even if far from every rider is going for that one extra fast lap in race setup in a test, they all want to be fast. That lap by Stoner looks like something he did after the Valencia race 2007.
Interresting for the races to come...

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (roger-m @ Aug 18 2008, 09:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>stoner has shown he is capable but in this case all he can do is try and win the remaining races and hope rossi dnf's or finish's at the back. stoner needs to win the remaining six and rossi concede 20 points which is quite possible with 6 races to go.
True.I wonder if Rossi is quietly gunning to get the same amount of wins Stoner had last season (10).Itll be a tall order given that the most hes won before is 9 (correct me here if im wrong peeps)in 2003 on RCV and 05 on the M1??Just to prove something, its Valentino after all.Hekll struggle to get 125 points ahead or w/e it was casey had.Unless casey gets confused and thinks its 2006 all over again...

Marco is over 2 seconds slower than Stoner. Ducati should really have the 2 go on track and let Stoner lead, Marco Follow and see where he is losing time. Then maybe he can try and adjust his riding style/setup and see if he improves any. Doesn't matter now anyways, but makes you wonder where those 2 seconds went... seeing as how Marco is suppose to be a world class rider.

That time set by Stoner is quite fast though. It would have been a front row start in 2006 qualifying or something!
Yeah, good idear.I'm sure they have tried something like that though ,they must have so he can see the lines Stoner are riding in.They have all the data from each rider and can tell exactly when he turned the throttle or braked, the speed in,in the middle and going out of a turn and tons of other things i don't even know the name of i'm sure. They have analysed his riding for almost a year now. This is why i'm so surprised by his preformance.
But as Suppo has said himself ,a difference that big isn't only the bike or set up.It's more motivation.
I'm sure Marco is a great rider on a Honda, but i can't say he is the fastest learner or the best one at adapting.

Marco was again slowest Ducati, slower than his teammate (Stoner 1st), slower than satellite Ducatis (Elias 3rd, Guintoli 8th) even slower than test rider Canepa. I've no idea why Ducati keep him on there.

I relate it to the Michael Jordan era. Even though I was a fan of a different team and I hated when he would destroy them it was a pleasure to watch him work.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Babelfish @ Aug 19 2008, 12:10 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>F, being a 5 times champion doesn't make him an oracle. It's just plain stupid to take his word for it. He doesn't mind playing mind games allthough I don't think he did here, and while he said pressure might have something to do with it, he also clearly said that's what happens when you are down on points, and that was a very clear reference to his own experience.
If it's one thing these two guys have in common in their personality it's their competetivness. They want to win, and what ever pressure they have it's 99% self induced. That's not about choking or anything like that, it's about winners. Winners who couldn't care less if they end up second or tenth, it's only one position that is good enough and that's #1. In the situation Stoner were in before this weekend he had to beat Rossi to have any real hope of taking the championship, and when done is done I bet that's why he took it so easy afterwards too. He did what he had to do, failed in trying but at least tried. I respect that a lot.
F, So am I. Well you completely missed my point. I ain't letting Stoner down there. I am just a little pissed of with frosty's comment on his earlier post. Maybe it IS NOT the fact, but maybe it IS the fact. Who knows?
...And if you scroll the whole pages here, you will find NONE of my posts are letting Stoner down.

Because Ducati wants an Italian rider to be on the team winning in the worst way. Plus Livio likes him and gets alomg with him very well. Read things he says and it is all right there. They will do ALMOST anything to get him to be on the top of the podium.

LOL the Hayden dance!!! That was some funny ..... Hell if he wins on a Ducati we will all be subject to it. I should write to Ducati so that they can amend his new contract that states if he has a sour puss face and does the Hayden saftey dance he will be fined.

Biaggi said pretty much the same thing. He said it in the movie faster and now look where he is. LOL. He isn't even at the top of the racers since he has been there. Ok some podiums and good lap times but he isn't as much of a badass as he thinks he is.
