Joe did alright there. P2 after starting 11th on the grid I think. Leading the championship by 5 points.
Aldeguer has come good too though.
It makes the season all that more interesting, to be honest I never watched the Moto2 and Moto3 races before this season but now I've got the bug as they are quite competitive and the riders end of it is very interesting too.

So far I am satisfied with all the races so far, in all the classes, worth my VideoPass.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Joe Roberts in MotoGP next year
I am not so sure, I think it's more about money and sponsorship than outright rider skill/results (with an exception or two perhaps). Fermin, in my opinion, is a natural, not sure anyone else in Moto2 is up to his level at this time, that got him the Ducati deal for next year. As for Roberts he needs to shine far above the rest and keep doing it to have a shot, gonna be interesting !

Looking at the complexities of Ducati's second factory seat it's possible that they are thinking about which of the candidate riders could be a significant championship threat if they go to KTM or Aprilia

I think it is multi factorial but certainly including that. You get the impression Martin has done his dash with Ducati although he probably would be a threat on a KTM.

Gigi has shown in the past he just wants the best riders on his bike regardless of who is currently on them and their putative past service to Ducati.

And Ducati management have always been unsentimental and imo better described as ruthless to the point of bad man management, including being ready to ditch the rider who had won their only premier class title and brought them most of their race victories only 2 years on, so I doubt they will worry about Bagnaia’s preferences, as they didn’t when they signed Bastiannini.

I get the impression that Gigi would like the 4 factory bikes filled by Bagnaia (done), Bastainini, M Marcos and Martin, however that’s unlikely to happen as they all want to be in the factory team regardless of whether they have stated that or not

Gigi once said of Marquez "Why WOULDN'T you want him on your bike? If he wins, at least he's winning for you and not a rival." Or words to that effect.

I think Martin would be a shoe in for the seat alongside Pecco, were it not for Marquez. We know that Martin is not staying at Pramac next yr, so the only option they have to keep both is to put Martin on the factory bike and Marquez on the Pramac, imo.

How many Ducatis will be on the grid next year? I keep seeing articles that Gresini might be getting into bed with Yamaha.

Where does Ducati stick Aldeguer?

That's my impression too. It seems increasingly likely that the 2 remaining satellite teams will get one factory, and one yr old bike.

Factory Ducati
Bagnaia - GP25
TBD - GP25

Pramac Ducati
TBD - GP25
Aldeguer - GP24

VR46 Ducati
Bezzechi - GP25
TBD - GP24

Weren't Pramac the ones rumored to be switching to Yamaha like a week ago?
I still don't see Yamaha getting another customer team next year, why would anyone want to get their bike?

Nice to hear Gigi's comments about Marc but does he decide who gets that seat?

It was Pramac, but I think they were using that as a bargaining chip.

Gigi is probably the top man bar one in Ducati now. I imagine he has a lot of sway regarding rider choices. Divi had been with the team for years, when he and GiGi fell out, he was gone.

A week ago it was Pramac joining Yamaha, this week its Gresini... I thought both teams were locked in with Ducati for 2025, but anything is possible.

Suppose this depends on what Marquez wants

The signing of which teams get which bikes is probably delaying the silly season

Aldeguer will be on a last years bike and as most are saying Pramac will only get one this years bike next year so most likely Pramac unless they go to Yamaha which is highly unlikely to happen

I wonder if there's a scenario where Ducati would give MM a GP25 to stay at Gresini, but making it pretty much a factory squad in all but name by bringing on factory engineers and pay him whatever the salary is. Plus full access to updates and whatever else. I've seen videos of Marc's interactions with the Gresini team in the garages and he seems to really enjoy the atmosphere there so I wonder if he'd be willing to stay assuming he got a full factory bike and support.

It's certainly plausible JP as long as Gresini don't go to Yamaha. It makes perfect sense in that he's in a team he knows, his brother is his team mate and he enjoys the atmosphere like you said. So getting the benefits of a factory team AND the atmosphere of a privateer team might be a very enticing combo.

The ONLY thing I see against it, is Ducati not wanting to see the #1 on a non factory coloured bike (even though Marc never runs #1).
