If Pecco gets his head right, which I expect he will, then he will be back to his usual form and likely win the weekend. He is going to need help in order to win the championship, and the only person who could help him is Marc. Marc can play spoiler if he can finish in front of Martin, and help Pecco catch up in the championship.

Remember Pedrosa? He said: "I'm going to help by winning the race myself". I doubt Marc would do different. Although if there are some coincidental circumstances he will certainly help Ducati to keep the #1 at home.

Interestingly enough, Bagnaia has spoken about the Ducati's engine brake set up being decided by the riders themselves as a key point from when they started to dominate.

So the aero restricts each and everyone, while the engineers can tweak the bike's other components. And therein lies the main reason Marc needed to become a Ducati Corse rider. They have more and better hands at work on their bikes.

Bastianini has also spoken about the need to alter the set up. So more or less the entire Ducati line up

I’d bet even money that the performance pecking order goes back to what it was two races ago, now that the race is not on a not-so-slippery surface. The last race as fun as it was, was IMHO - one of those situations where some well-liked mid-pack rider like Vermulen excels in the rain and everybody starts talking about how they’re back on form, and in the next non-rain race, it’s just the same ol’ same ol’.
… Pecco will disappoint and irritate people by returning to form, until he does something stupid again, which he dependably does.
The potential of the GP24 ridden optimally as Bagnaia seems able to do should be higher in ideal conditions, and mostly in usual conditions, unless MM really has found new wrinkles on how both to set up and ride a GP23.

With the track conditions at Aragon MM could do better than a “normal” rider. Conditions didn’t allow MM himself to go as fast on the weekend as he did on Friday.

Sorry for off topic question, but was the reason why Simoncelli helmet came off ever published? It bugs me every time I see his name. Once I even tried to search for an answer but came up empty.

Haven't seen anything published. There's a limit to how much force a helmet should resist, at some point its more effective for the helmet to give way and that includes the strap

Marc Marquez reveals change that led to improved performance for Aragon MotoGP

This is interesting. What I get from this is Marc went a different way on setup to what he has previously.
Who was the last person this happened to?
Diggia.
Who was his crew chief? Frankie Carchedi
What happened to his results after?
....
I still see it as largely left hand corners and slippery track behind that win however. I will be surprised if he can continue to challenge the gp24s. I guess we will see this weekend.

Prosecco and Martini take turns in binning it so i guess in Misano its martins turn to kiss the gravel trap. Regarding Marcs last weekend: I have never seen someone dominating the field by eight tenths since we watch the ducati cup, is that only because of a slippery track? Its slippery for everyone, so it would only mean that the others really suck at riding and are only fast because of electronic aids. Or MM finally got the gp23 figured out eventough it took him longer than everybody expected and with the other two binning it every other race he could still win this year. Its not that big of a gap and who knows maybe we finally see some wet races aswell

The second biggest gap in Quali this season was also a Marc PP. In Jerez, where the track had issues.

The new generation of riders have limited experience with their bikes in non-optimal conditions?

MM has always excelled in difficult/slippery conditions. His ability to get on slicks and be quicker than those on wets on a damp track is pretty much unmatched.

I feel it was Marc showing superior skill in sketchy conditions. I also think that the 24's are going to continue as normal and walk the rest of the season.

Bagnaia has apologized publicly for his words against Alex

"First of all, I wanted to talk a little about what happened -- about the declarations that -- I want to say sorry to Alex, because it was after a situation in which I was very angry, very sad about what happened, I said strong words that I never -- I never meant to say he crashed me out on purpose, only that his defending was rather tough, as is normal when you are fighting for a third place. I haven't changed my opinion on what happened, that it could have been avoided by rolling off the throttle (cutting gas), but in the end... that's what happened, I just wanted to apologize to Alex for the words and it's done, let's turn the page and let's...

"We're in Misano here which is my home circuit and I'm not feeling so great at the moment, but I still have 2 more days to get to the race understanding the situation. It's a little bit better than last year when I arrived here, but -- but nothing. I have a little bit of pain on the entire left side of my body and we'll see tomorrow how I am."

Good step, at least he can be his own man for now instead of following Rossi's playbook. It's better for his championship aspirations if he doesn't invite the Marquez brothers inside his head.

Interesting that Marc might get to test the GP25, but I didnt know that there was still a sponsorship dispute between Red Bull and Monster over Marquez.
