I dont think he'll do anything major on a Gp bike during his first season. If he gets a factory bike, that will take him at least another year I reckon, before he shows any consistant results.
Id like to take this oppertunity to remind the american forum members, this is just my opinion.

As much as i think of Spies i didnt expect him to dominate in SBK first time out... granted in GP he'll be on a sat team..but once Lorenzo goes to Telefonica Honda Spies will be with Rossi at the factory Yamaha... at that point we'll have the 990 big boy bikes back and the Championship will be coming BACK to Texas

No problem, Kallio is a great guy and great rider. I've always liked his level headed approach, and he has got to have some of the most thrilling off track recoveries I have ever seen. Welcome to the forum.

It's his first season and he's riding the most difficult bike on the grid. We know he's fast, give the man some time before you pass your judgement. Not that I think your opinion has any weight anyway, it's just that ignorance annoys me.

As far as I'm concerned they're all motorcycle riding gods on that grid.

just coz you are a finnish fan is a reason he hasnt been a failure. back it up buddy

so how HAS he been sucessfull. having excuses that its a hrad bike to ride does not prove he has had a successfull season.

has he finished on merit? considering there are only 16 bikes on the grid not too hard to ask for at least a top 5 finish? like horhey, dovi, pedrosa and stoner did on their debut season?

and kallio is older than those above mentioned riders.....

so yes he has been a failure....

I think yamaha will be relying on spies to capture USA bike market which is indeed one of the biggest one in the world from selling point of view and if he can get some good result(which i think he will)that will be icing on the cake for yamaha.

both had their debut on, factory kits. stoner IIRC had rough times most of the time, then showing brilliance here and there, hence the label "crashey", the same with dovi, showing brilliance but not really quite there. plus, both casey and dovi were on honda bikes then. might not be as powerful as the factory bikes but at least not as a monster of a bike like the duc.
