At the end of the day, if Honda have even a remotely competitive bike, Marc will be there. Pecco might be favourite but:

1. His consistency was poor too many times this yr.
2. He won't have a team mate helping him like Miller. In fact I see Pecco and Eneia taking points off each other and winning battles but ultimately losing the war.

I bet for Marc if Honda makes a better bike or at least one that stays uptight. Fabio as my second option if Yamaha improves the speed without compromising on Yamaha's strengths. I think Enea will do better than Pecco next year and I agree with #22's assessment, it's gonna be a bit like Hamilton/Alonso in 2007.

Dark horse candidates: Martín, Binder (depends on KTM).

I saw a video of Pecco admitting he was too up and down. He knows he needs to be more consistent. I'm not betting against him, though.

So much will depend on Honda - if they can give MM a bike that does not try to kill him - my money is there. His need to get back and his need to be a champion again will drive the guy to potentially scarey levels - but it so depends on how much Honda work to give him the bike but also, what tyres are bought to the table.

I am like others, think that Ducati have created a rod for their own backs - but I also feel that they have been more focused on the constructor title for a while now and have less care for rider title - so having multiple riders taking points of each other is a risk they are happy to take. Likewise, losing Miller as a team-mate will be interesting to see Pecco win it all - nope, I suspect Bastiannini to be more likely of the two.

Yamaha are a chance - I mean, Quartararo did damn well given he was effectively a 1 man band and next year the pressure of being defending champion is gone plus a lot of people this year have given him the Yamaha excsue to again lessen expectations.

Aprilia - to me Aleix had the perfect storm year and with Vinales I just do not see the consistency aspect.

Nah I will go with my 3 being Marquez of the marc kind, Bastiannini and Quartararo - just the order i am not fully set on

Hopefully winning the title has taken a considerable weight off his shoulders.

He isn't happy, says the 23 bike cannot win the championship unless it makes 2 steps but February.

O hope we aren't in for another 12/24 months of ..... Hondas.

I am really looking forward to see how things play out with the factory Ducati team. If Enea can keep his DNFs to a minimum it should be a hoot.
