Ummm.... Chaz Davies had fractured bones. I'm not sure off what you base "how .... he is", seeing as it would be somewhat like saying Rossi is .... for only being 14th when he had to retire. Some people really need to keep a sense of perspective.

As usual, MotoGPnews find out how to sum up Rossi's race:
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE<div class='quotemain'>Valencia for Valentino Rossi was like Shinya Nakano's season all compressed into one race.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE<div class='quotemain'> Rossi was on course to success…then his engine went pop. This was superbly ironic as earlier in the weekend Yamaha had boasted about the reliability of their super reliable engine.

And if you like irony, and understand it better than Alanis Morissette, then you'll love the fact that the race winner, Thumbelina Pedrosa, won the race on Michelin tyres…in the same splendid weekend that Rossi publicly slated the Frenchie tyre firm for being .... and announced that his mates at Dorna had landed him a rule-bending Bridgestone deal for 2008.

Colin Edwards race:
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE<div class='quotemain'>As a big Texan thank you to his loyal factory team Colin trundled around Valencia like a crisp packet blowing in the wind. Eventually, when the lights had been switched off and the Pedrosa fans gone home, Colin finished the race sadly behind a non-factory Yamaha on Dunlop skates.

Dani Pedrosa's start:
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE<div class='quotemain'>From the off Dani was rubbish. Thanks to physics, touching the floor and having his bike anywhere near upright at the start just ain't gonna happen. Meanwhile Casey Bridgestoner was away and miles up by the first corner.

Meh, he still had 25 points extra to reach the target.

Good race,

Pedrosa 1 : 0 Stoner.

The Ducati rider just doesn't have the juice.... he only wins if he is 1st from the start..

Who won 10 races and the title this year?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Pinky @ Nov 5 2007, 09:50 AM) <div class='quotemain'>
Davide Brivio. "Unfortunately a technical problem stopped him from getting the second place and we're very sad about this. Our engineers are doing everything they can now to understand what happened today, because Valentino felt that he had a problem and that the engine was not working properly. From our first analysis we are not yet sure what the problem was, so we have decided to send the engine back to Japan for further investigation."

looks like it was only rossi who felt there was a prob with engine. maybe in his mind again. like when he gave up when he didnt like his tires in the wet race and came into the pits.

Or the bike was really ...... He should have done what hopper did last year and kicked it in the nads.

The bike couldn't have been that bad, it still won 4 races this year.

dont forget he would have been on his #2 bike as his #1 bike was destroyed. dont think the #2 bike won .... this year

It won 4 races with Rossi riding it... I doubt this year's Yamaha/Michelin package would have won anything with any rider other than Rossi, Pedrosa or Stoner...

Ducati got one win without Stoner, and what is it 3 podium? I think the Yamaha wasn't as bad as some people would have you believe, but i don't think it was the best bike.

Actually Ducati would have 2 wins without Stoner... Anyway we'll know for sure only when we can evaluate Melandri's performance on it, but I am ready to give credit to Stoner without reserves.

Regarding Yamaha, it seems evident to me that the 07 project was too conservative (i.e. they didn't spend money on bike development) and failed completely when they tried a late rush of upgrades. Of course it was better than KR for sure... but it was too often beaten by Kawasakis and Suzukis to qualify as a world contender in a year full of surprises

I have no doubts Rossi would have done better on a Suzuki this year (with all due respect for Hopper and Verme...).
