Up and coming Talent?

he was british 125 champ and british supersport champ. But he is 6'3 so maybe a bit big for gp's.

he's doing good pr work for himself at the moment. if he can keep up the momentum and get himself on or very near the podium for the rest of the year, he'll be top of the list to replace the likes of Rea. He's a battler for sure, I hope he can keep it up.

On the topic of up and coming talent there's one guy we haven't mentioned and the guy who got his first podium at LeMans, Bradley Smith. Unfortunate initials aside, he's a big talent and he's in just the right place at just the right age. 125 Grand Prix podiums at 16!!! and he's British. I'd love to see him win one.

At 160-165 he will have to lose some weight. He would be giving up 20 pounds to most riders and 50+ to you know who.

i think Ryuichi Kiyonari is one to look out for, he's way to good for BSB and needs to get a move on to wsbk or evan straight to motogp. He's already won bsb and will probably defand his title succesefully this year which shows that he has some immense talent. He will be good in the future if he moves on next year. you'll see.

I agree, kiyo's the man, and hes riding even better this year than last. I don't really know why hes still in Britain, i can only assume Honda have along term plan for him to follow. He can be big if he keeps progressing, not sure if he is motogp quality but he could certainly be successful in world superbike, I think he is Japans most promising up and comer.

Rea, Camier, Sykes - all showing promise this year.

I think Camier has certainly stepped up to the mark this year - he's the new Johnny Rea if you like. Rea was incredible last year and he was rewarded with one of the best bikes on the grid for his trouble.

Good to see the young guns coming through.

I wouldn't describe Kiyo as up an coming - I rekon he's well and truly there already

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Tom @ May 29 2007, 10:51 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>For me to make the jump from being just the guy with the factory Suzuki to a real up and coming talent he needs to show progress. He went down in my estimation when he stayed in America for this season because it makes him look like another AMA superbike rider. He needs to ride better this season again, get faster and really rub in that he is too good for AMA (See Kiyo in BSB) then give him a shot in world championships.

Yes he is on the dominant bike but the guy he beat for the title is a 6 time champion,on the same bike, and contrary to belief, far from washed up since he has come back this year and is taking it to Spies. His [Spies] style is similar to Haydens and it is a point and shoot style that may not favor him in the 800 era of GP.As for him not going GP last year, that was not his decision,i dont think there was room at the inn for the Suzuki camp and im not aware of any offers from Yamaha,Honda,Ducati.Or Kawasaki. One thing is certain,Momma Spies vs the European press will be entertaining
