The Last Donny

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (chopperman @ Aug 3 2009, 05:38 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>We got to the que at about 7.00ish. There was a fucing huge que by the carpark near the paddock, we walked up a bit further to the exhibition centre where 2 gate were open and hardly no que at all.

we entered through the gate from the campsite - just behind the adult entertainment tent. got there by 5.30am and only about 6 people there - hence why we got a good seat at starkeys - shame to see it go - cant see it lasting long at silverstone - going next year just to see improvements from donny - like hard standing carparks - better toilets etc

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (chanchan @ Aug 3 2009, 12:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>What a bloody laugh trying to get car from campsite on sunday afternoon. 8 carparks fed into one small gravel lane with one steward on getting complaints from car owners over crashing in 3ft mud. waited an hour watching people getting towed out of the field then decided to leave car in field and walk to hotel.

I feel your pain! Although i didn't go to Donny this year, gutted as it was the last but it kinda clashed with a funeral. No competition there really. I do remember going to WSB or maybe it was BSB one year (a very long time ago) where they actually locked us into a field and didn't open the gates because of the traffic. A near riot happened! Some people pulled up and cut down some of the bushes which separated the field to the road and then started to help people to push there bikes up the mud so they could get out. However that had to stop when a bunch of cops came over and started to threat to arrest people as they were destroying private property. The cops then put all their blue tape around the hole in the bush to stop people getting out that way. So some other people decided to go through the trees in to the empty field next to us and leave out of the other field. So away everyone went clearing away all the bushes and plants ect to make way for their bikes. Amazingly the police didn't notice all these guys in the trees and so we all cleared a path and went out through our made path. The police started to notice when about half of the field (which was quite packed) was now in the next field. They started to ran after people but we just floored it (not even with our helments on properly!) until we were away. Now that is what i call a BAD traffic. Let story for you there guys

Cant believe you missed it.

Me and some other Firefighters from Jersey went past it a couple of times during the weekend just to see what all the fuss was about.

As we are public servants we had no choice but to make sure the vendors who entered the premise were safe in the event of a fire you see. Strictly professional of course

A huge big white marqee just behind the funfair. !!
