I really don't know what to make of this kid since you never hear much of him.
I know last year he crashed a lot which was good because it tells me he was not afraid to push the bike to it's limit and also each crash is a learning experience. Since he was so far back last year you never got to see him other than the frequent cloud of dust. I also don't know how competitive his bike is but he qualified in 6th place at Jerez with his times being not far from the frontrunners.

Grabbing 6th place on the grid with his limited experience I think is a great achievement.
The 125 race for me tomorrow is at 6 am so I will miss it for sure but I look foward to seeing how well he can do.
I don't know how you mid America and west coasters deal with the race times.
Do you ever get to see a live race?

I missed the race, but dang, I saw 6th on the grid for him on Motogp.com, and saw his race results, which I will not mention, and he did very well. Cut his best finish in half.

GO BONER!!

That's a great nickname for the kid.

Hey, me and him could be buddies. .... and Boner.

Lets hope my mate decides to start racing and become your buddy as well. His name is Johnny Hardon

Finally caught the 125 race. Wow, what an improvement for Bonsey. He stayed with the front pack for most of the race but never faded enough to give up his position. I really didn't expect him to improve so fast, let's hope he can keep it going. I am also really impressed with Bradley Smith's performance so far, clearly the move to a supported bike has helped him immensely as he has personally stated.

now they need to get that bike a lttle faster to be able to keep pace with the factory bikes for a possible podium.

I just saw that Bonsey picked up 2nd on the starting grid at Estoril. Seems to be improving fast. Wish the best of luck to him on Sunday.

2nd eh?

Hmmm... from a retirement crash in Qatar to a podium in race three? I like the sound of that. Add the fact that 14th was his best finish in 2007.

You are way ahead of yourself. a LOT can happen in a 125 race, and usually does. I have been well impressed by Stevie so far this year and a podium would be great for him, but its nowhere near given yet.

Is there a chance Americans will start to like grand prix racing if they have a rider in it, or will nothing change?

I believe Americans will never catch on with road racing in general. Whether it be with bikes, sports cars, open wheel. Unless you have an American rider have a very tragic crash, road racing will not even get covered on the ESPN or other national sports or news network. Even that, I really doubt it.

I know buddy, we have discussed the smaller classes enthusiastically many times in the past, but you must appreciate the minority you are in even on this site?

i know your defo right there. it's ashame because people who don't follow the lower cylinder class's really are missing so much good racing. if they followed it they would see the future goings on in the big class. how many times do you remember lorenzo, pedrosa & stoner goin at it. rossi, capirossi. biaggi. it's were they hone thier skills & soe thier wild oats!
