Silverstone GP 2013: RACE (spoilers)

Marky was amazing all things considered. Didn't look fazed in Parc Ferme.

When he passed Jorge I thought I'd .... myself. The little gremlin has some serious balls.

Great battle at the end, was expecting the worst again with the two Hondas sitting behind waiting to get passed.

<span style="font-size:18px;Jorge - Immense

<span style="font-size:18px;Marquez - Impressive given the pooped shoulder

<span style="font-size:18px;Pedro - Disappointing because he had the speed to catch but didn't once try to put on an overt-taking move on Marquez

<span style="font-size:18px;Rossi - About what I expected, beat the satellite Hondas (yay)

<span style="font-size:18px;Bautista - Not too bad, top satellite Honda

<span style="font-size:18px;Bradl - Not too good, bottom satellite Honda

<span style="font-size:18px;Cal - Disappointing, 2nd hand bike and 2nd hand body

Great racing all round from the three fast guys. Dani closed a gap I thought he had no chance of making, Marquez was genuinely on the limit and Lorenzo rode the race of his life.

Everyone else looked they were on a Sunday morning coffee run in comparison.

I don't care what anyone says about "only four race winning bikes". You could give the whole grid their choice of a Factory RCV or M1 and the result would still be the same. At Silverstone today, the riders were making the difference.

Also, ......... tv race direction. Who really wanted to watch riders swapping places 30secs off the pace?

Semi-epic. MM one step further to the WC, Dani one-step further to third. JL doing a great race, great weekend overall, took the battle to Marquez from FP1 and held it brilliantly through to the chequered flag. will probably beat Pedro for second, but the title is still very far away. Great to see JL improving in areas where no new parts are needed, like doing a Pedrosa start for the second race in a row that was crucial for staying out of scraps, unlike Pedrosa who killed his tires bridging the gap that effected from .... QP and an average start.

Rossi and Bautista battling it out again for fourth, carbon copy of Brno. Bautista finding consistency, Rossi finding himself consistently far behind time-wise, doing good damage limitiation in terms of points. Bradl's fate was determined once he couldn't get away on his soft tires. with everyone else on hards, wjhat would you expect.

Crutchlow should've better broken his ankle than his bike(s), P7 is super-lame. couldn't even challenge Bradl, which was the least to expect to be honest. Smith getting beaten by Hayden, should go somewhere lonely and shame. Dovi messed up (anyone seen a replay on TV? only saw his damaged bike for about 1/8th of a second). CRT as always, bla.

I'd love to see MM and JL keeping on battling this way for the next races, irrespective of WC outcome. And someone please fire Pedro and get Stoner back.

but looking like he won a world title, when he only beat an injured rival,

Marc Marquez has been given 2 penalty points for the crash in warm up this morning

If they are giving penalty points for crashing Cal better keep his head down!

Well Marquez's title win this year won't be such a struggle for that 2 points to matter.

Pedrosa... When he was catching up like crazy, being faster by 0.5 each lap for seveal consecutive laps, i thought he'd finally make the show... but I guess 3rd is all he's going to make for 6 last races.

So 8 more points before a grid drop?

No, 2 more penalty points and he starts from the back of grid.5 more starts from pit lane, 8 more disqualified from event

Its not championship points, its penalty points, and could end up costing him a bunch more than 2 championship points, or, it could cost him nothing. Has to mind his p'and q's for the rest of the season

Said he didnt slow down enough after Crutchlow crash under yellow, and endangered  course workers and another rider. Kind of lame, i would have to see the time frame involved, but it seemed bang bang situation

Marquez was given the penalty points for not slowing down under the yellow flags being waved in the corner where Crutchlow crashed.
