Isn't LCR to be determined? I thought Nick Harris was saying that Bradl's option had yet to be exercised.

I think I heard that too....and I also heard that honda are not too impressed with him this season so far.  He is on factory equipment no?

Correct and Alvaro is going to be very lucky to keep his ride, there are many clauses within a contract and one is results based, Alvaro has no results to speak of.

There is Factory equipment and then there is 'Factory' equipment. Factory equipment is what Pedrosa and Marquez ride. 'Factory' equipment is the same as Satellite equipment with Factory stamped on the packaging!

Yes....but as the Mental Anarchist says....it did come from the factory....

wow I must be very naive but I'm shocked. Really thought these satellite  guys like Bradl did get some REAL factory parts.

They do get some level of Factory team support, but they are behind in their parts updates and may only get them once the Factory thinks they are deserved...


 


Hence why by Bautista and Bradl are in trouble with HRC...

agreed..but just for comparison i'd say bradl gets more support from honda than cal does from yamaha.  


 


In that sense Bradl is disappointing.  Just my opinion.

Count the number of HRC people in the garage. Bradl has a factory bike, with factory support.

 I think everyone forgets Alvaro is not on full factory support.

same is true for stefan btw , he just changed from nissin to brembo though he has always had the öhlins suspension IIRC

The Satellite vs. Factory thing is mostly ......... Swap Bradl and Marquez or Crutchlow and Lorenzo's bikes around and the results will be near enough to the same. I'd say the team (mechanics, race engineer, etc) are far more important than the difference between Ohlins Shock Version 16.1.2 & 16.1.3


Tyres used to be a big difference between the teams, but that is gone now.


What do you think the actual difference in performance is between an LCR and a HRC bike?

I hope it's true. It'd be like an "intervention" where friends and family help a loved one to get off a bad drug


and get back to living a rewarding life. I just hope Cal doesn't shoot himself in the foot for big money and


throw away his career by moving to Ducati. Does seem that talented riders in that respect are like moths

As much as some people on here dont ,like to admit it, at some point these guys do think about their future. Cal is not a young racer, the window to set himself up financially for life is getting narrower by the day. Unless he is promised IN CONTRACT, a factory contract starting in 2014, he will take the Ducati, or whoevers money, and run if  offered. Who gives a .... if you finish 4-5 on a satellite Yamaha, or 6-7 on a factory Ducati, especially if you are making 5 times the money.   Who knows, maybe Cal could catch lightning in a bottle at Ducati like Stoner did.
