With that said, and thinking more about it, I could almost see him owning Moto3 or Moto2 team or something. He has the money, he will definitely get the sponsorship needed.

He would have his school to fill the seats on his team.. Just spitballing...

I just see the Moto3 and Moto2 teams the feeder teams to his Yamaha MotoGP team...his ego is too big not to be a manager in the top tier of racing....

My guess is he'll be unhappy no longer being in the prime spotlight and will doubtless do the special appearances as required. Personally I think he's too narcissistic to be bothered with mentoring younger racers.

Been said before that Lorenzo will be happy (even if he doesn't win a championship) to beat Rossi in points - on "the bike that Rossi developed".

Lorenzo is so pragmatic and dull as a person, that I can't picture him (as much as I'd love to see it happen) taking such an outrageous risk as to go to Ducati, tho the pleasure of beating Rossi on the Duc would enough to make him cum.:p

Isn't that what the VR46 Rider's Academy is all about?

I agree with your "dull as a person" part, but disagree with some of the rest. Think you are giving Rossi to much credit. I don't think Rossi being Rossi drives him any more than any other rider. Georgie is driven by wins, (well, unless he moves to a Duc for a big check), and driven to be the best on the track each time he is out there. His massive ego and born to race childhood will not let him do anything else. If Stoner was his teammate, he would be driven to beat him just as bad as he is driven to beat Rossi and to prove he was the best rider on that team. He would probably be a difficult teammate for anyone.

Think he is to arrogant to worry much about Rossi, other than the # of championships he has won in the past. Don't think he sees him as a true threat any longer, as he does MM. He believes he is the best rider currently, and the other riders are just there to fill the 2nd and 3rd podium spots.

Of course, all this is my opinion, because as with the rest of you, I have never talked to the dude, so as all of you, I am just making .... up as I go. (Kopro aside)

I really don't get this dull as a person ........ to be honest. Isn't this rubbish contrived by the boppers to mock anyone but their idol?
What's Lorenzo supposed to do to enamour people, recite poetry, tell jokes or maybe ride around with a blow up doll on his bike and dive into a trackside .......? Oh hold on...
If Lorenzo does celebrate after a race, the boppers proclaim he's copying their hero. The lad races a bike and is currently one of the best in the world, the whole reason the boppers hate him. Of all the people desperate for him to leave Yamaha for Ducati and leave Rossi with an open goal for his deserved and righteous 10th title...
The boppers and Rossi himself?
I'll leave it at that...

Maybe "dull" is the wrong verbiage. He just isn't as colorful and out going as some. Just walks in with his lunch box, does his job, (very ....... well), and goes home. Not that typical larger than life personality of must superstars.

I am not knocking him. I cheer for him because his is "dull" and arrogant!! Just like me!! Lol

Have you read his book where it's explained why he is abrupt?
It's because journalists during his early years twisted his shy attempts to communicate with them into statements that bought him grief and derision.
This went a step further when he tried to befriend Rossi as his team mate. Rossi also twisted his words, making good use of the "arrogant" label the press had given him, making Lorenzo vow not to speak to the press unless he'd specifically rehearsed his speech beforehand with his press advisor.
What was shyness has now become to look abrupt and arrogant as he just wants to say his pre rehearsed speech then get the hell out of there before he's put outside his comfort zone.
It's a shame the guy was treated so badly in his early years or he might've shown more of his true nature. The film about him showed a much different person who is funny and clearly enjoys clowning around with his team and friends behind closed doors.

I have not read it, but have heard it summarized very similar to that. Will need to find an English version.

Haven't followed that. Isn't that "up and coming"? How much time do you really believe he'll devote to personal involvement with riders. My guess is it'll make a .... load of money for Rossi - but he'll be essentially a figurehead. If you know different - lay it on me. I don't mind being proven wrong. I expect it will be along the same lines as Spencer's racing school, only better funded.

What little bit I have watched of their videos (all in Italian so I lose interest) it appears he does a fair amount with them, both at his ranch and at Misano. I have no affiliation, so I can't say how factual it is. IIrc, next year his sky racing team is going into Moto2, Fenati confirmed as a rider.

I got the book years ago, I think it was out just after his first title. It's in English too, I'm not intellectual enough to understand a second language. Lol
It's a very deep and psychological book which discusses Lorenzo's career from childhood and the unbelievable challenges he's faced.

Where do you find this book? Sounds like something I would be interested in reading.

The better half got it for me from the local bookstore. I think it was Waterstones or something. It's bound to be available on the net.
