Championship on Yamaha will be worth more than a pay check from Duc in the long run.

Nobody remembers how much these guys made, only titles. Lorenzo is plenty rich now, and Yamaha wasn't gonna force him to ride for free. If he signs for Ducati, he just flushed a legacy down the toilet. I hope all this is just an April fools joke. It is April 1st in Bologna.

You read it here first, 2017 Ducati super team, Lorenzo and Stoner.
Lorenzo better hope that's not the case. Anyway, I've said it before, Stoner is never coming back. Maybe a wildcard, though I'm starting to doubt even that. Casey retired a long time ago.

Rossi and his favoritism have out lasted every competitor. Rossi will get that title one way or another. Cue Yellow smoke.

Shut up.

And 1 April in cloggie land (or wherever Emmett types from)...

Then Jumkie remembered the word Casey had spoken: "Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times." And he went outside and wept bitterly.

Hard to replace 10 million euro's, besides, if it doesnt work out, he can probably go back to Yamaha to take Rossi's seat.
Lorenzo doesn't employ Carmelo as his sport agent. According to Kropo, we will never know the real figures. I doubt the difference between Yamaha & Ducati's offer is 10 million. However, if Lorenzo goes to Ducati the money won't buy him any titles. Lorenzo is 28, he'll be 32 at the end of a 2 year contract. If he goes to Ducati that will be it. He's not popular, he doesn't make Dorna money.

What I'd like to see is Lorenzo do a spoof announcement of his defection, just to see Rossi's delighted expression and the ensuing high fiving in the Rossi pits.
Then tomorrow after putting the M1 on pole Lorenzo saying "April fools you lot, I've signed for another 2 years at Yamaha, so I can enjoy beating that old queen into retirement" as he points to an open mouthed and crestfallen Rossi.
That would be a mind game

Ha! Just one little tweet to get the frenzy going

to be honost, i dont find the move to duc as such a bad move, i wouldve done it even with the same amount of money.after all he has been working with yamaha for about 8 years, and he already has achieved the highest level possible, so if the environment is too poisonous to work in, he can just move on and accept the new challenge (the option he probably didnt have back in 2009 or 2010 and he had to accept that environment) which is far more fun and a risk worth taking ( well if he doesnt do good there he can always play the "no one has done good on this machine except 1 guy" card, and if he wins anything there, it would be much more appreciated and recognized. ) plus he is getting paid for it.

as far as winning and legacy goes, he already is one of the most successful riders out there and unless he is obsessed with records and stuff, i wouldve trade fun and relaxed work place (for a few years) with one more title.

5 million x2. Like i said, no way he leaves Yamaha for a million more a year, thats worth staying. 4-5 million a year, you gotta take note

Especially when you consider what a million more is really worth after taxes. Lorenzo is more concerned with winning than a slightly bigger nest egg, He and the M1 are so right for each other. Changing would be pointless.

Emmett is adamant that this is not his April fools offer for the year, that would be the mandatory winglets article.

Jools saying the same on bt sports. Colin Edwards saying he doesn't think so.
Lorenzo must have confidence in Ducati to consider it...
