Sepang pre-season test 2011

And thats why we love the place. People can be people and not have to walk on eggshells, worrying about who they might upset. I saw a public service ad on the tube this morning that made me want to puke. A group of teenage boys are sitting in a restaurant and one of them uses the term "thats so gay" only to be assailed by some .... comedian about why he shouldnt use that term. I kept waiting for the kid to tell the .... ..... to .... off, but to my chagrin, it never happened

omg dude ive seen that stupid .... also..that commercial is ....... gay

The only real surprises in this first day of tests are Simoncelli and Bautista. They are doing really well.
<

The rest was more or less predictable, and predicted.

Honda is beginning the season with a bike that's already very good. At the same level with Yamaha, or even better.

Stoner on the Honda looks like the man to beat, at least as much as reigning champ Lorenzo.

Valentino on a Ducati needs more time, but I was expecting to see Hayden faster than him. Probably tomorrow...

De Puniet and Ducati look like a good combination.

I almost agree J4rn0 but slightly different. The times look about right, but surprised at Bautista and Aoyama being well up, maybe just because they can concentrate in just riding instead of testing, I would say these 2 will drop down the order a bit by the end of the 3 days. Rossi’s times are around what I expected, looking at the pictures and from what he says, he seems happy enough at this stage and for sure will improve as he seems to be pacing himself to last the test. Hayden testing away and will also improve.

Usual suspects at the top.

Injured Rossi on the Edge of losing Alien status if the first half of 2011 is not good

looks like Injured Rossi is still quicker than haystack,

2011 he's riding shotgun for the old master then.he'll be out of the door
<

Is that Rossi's official new name? I see your using capitals, so I guess its a proper baptism?

"Injured Rossi"

What ever makes you feel better son.

Damn, I'd like to see Bautista do well. The guy has so much heart. In the past I've really loved

watching his duels with Simoncelli and Aoyama.

Well, Melandri's shoulder is certainly healing faster than Rossi's.

You forgot Rossi's new title "Injured". Yes because when Rossi goes slow, its got to be the shoulder.

And the choir sang in unison...

46 didn't leave a team that promoted equal treatment to go to another one that does the same.

I'd laugh, but its just too much of a shame. Pawns in the service of Rossi.

I read on Twitter that Ducati has 3 fairing configurations today; one with fins, one without and one cut away more for windy conditions. Perhaps it is that

And here I thought only Nicky was Rossi's personal tester. Turns out, he's got 3.

I've seen pictures of Rossi today with and without fins, but nothing of him with all the drilling and what looks like 'older' fairing like the photo of nicky earlier in this thread

I read Ducati has new things in about every area, including electronics so Hayden might go fast at least,in the end.Spies is quite impressive though, being just as fast as Stoner except for Stoners late hot lap/laps.

I don't believe Ducati have changed a thing, just a few set up adjustments....well at least according to J4rno.
<

Anyway, don't kid yourself. Ducati have the remote controls in hand, make no mistake, Nicky will NOT be allowed to beat Rossi. It just looks bad for business. Ducati is not there to win with Nicky, they are there to win with Rossi. Period.

WTF is Haystack doing?
cc_confused.gif

Shouldn't he be at least a few tenths faster than a one-armed, over-the-hill Rossi?

Us die-hard Hayden fans may be in for yet another long, miserable season. [/font]

I feel like a Saints fan. I needs a paper bag of shame to put over my head.

You think its a level playing field at Ducati Geo? The only shame is the manufactures insistence on wasting his talent as a #2 rider. The story of Nicky's GP career.

Damn Jums anything else bad about Rossi you'd like to say. Lol. I think you covered it all up with these statements. Lol. Let the boy breath man. I think Nicky will do just fine you'll see.

I said something bad about Rossi here? Point it out please. I'm pretty sure my point was Ducati's love affair is surely gonna blind them to Nicky's potential, if only given the same chance. (And the rest directed at the now, in full swing, rationalization of Mindless Bops regarding VR's time sheet.)

So help me understand. At Valencia, they take and give them both the same bike, Nicky makes VR look silly (whose shoulder was dangling by a string but managed to podium two day before). Forward a few months, they "radically" change the bike (allegedly), and Nicky can only match VR (who himself is down on the time sheets today, with a "repaired" shoulder?) Less you forget, Hayden also had surgery, and surely is not blaming it as "weak" or not at "full strength", etc.) And your explanation for this is? In what world does this not stink?

So you're saying Hayden has no balls? Really? And for that matter Barbera (much more balls than brains) and Depuniet

who been consistently competitive of late despite often riding with horrendous pain? Really.

My post I thought implied that DePuniet has the balls to ride the Ducati and win on it. Barbara in 2010 reigned in his macho and rode with his brain. Nicky unfortunately despite being talented does not have the mongrel to win on the Ducati in my opinion. Nicky needs a Puig in his corner otherwise he will always play 2nd fiddle.
