Sepang pre-season test 2011

You do realize that until post game this Sunday night, the Saints are defending world champions
<

Sadly, I do not!

I'm only dimly aware that the Steelers and Packers are playing this weekend.

Anyone got Day 2 times???

Hot off the press, Nicky Hayden was fooled into having carpal tunnel surgery. What they actually did was insert a a small device that administers an electric shock. This device makes him lose 30% power in his right hand whenever it is activated. Ducati ran preliminary tests today at Sepang, hoping to have the device fully functioning by March 20th.

Well, it's more humane than the Remote Lobotomy Device that evil ....... Shumacher had installed in his team-mate. It was activated when Her-Cheatmaster pressed the dreaded "Rubens Button."

I hereby coin a new phrase! The "Nicky Switch."

This diabolical device is currently being fitted to Rossi's bike. With a simple finger gesture, the Evil One can remotely switch Haystack's engine management system into "Pass Me" mode.

Jumkie, You don’t seem to be a fan of the greatest rider that ever lived, what’s your problem son? Why have you so much hate inside you?

Take a good look at yourself boy and look at the craaapppp you wrote in one page alone.

1. "Injured Rossi" Is that Rossi's official new name? I see your using capitals, so I guess its a proper baptism?

2. I'd laugh, but its just too much of a shame. Pawns in the service of Rossi.

3. And here I thought only Nicky was Rossi's personal tester. Turns out, he's got 3.

4. Again? I could swear that when Stoner would win on it the Yellow Army told us the Duc had an insane advantage.

5. Anyway, don't kid yourself. Ducati have the remote controls in hand, make no mistake, Nicky will NOT be allowed to beat Rossi. It just looks bad for business. Ducati is not there to win with Nicky, they are there to win with Rossi. Period.

6. You think its a level playing field at Ducati Geo? The only shame is the manufactures insistence on wasting his talent as a #2 rider. The story of Nicky's GP career.

7. I said something bad about Rossi here? Point it out please. I'm pretty sure my point was Ducati's love affair is surely gonna blind them to Nicky's potential, if only given the same chance. (And the rest directed at the now, in full swing, rationalization of Mindless Bops regarding VR's time sheet.)

Don't mind Jumkie.... he's like a lost kid at a themepark, sometimes his mind just wanders off and goes whever it takes him without any thought of consequences. He always talks about Rossi Boppers being these crazy bunch of mindless worshippers but he failed to recognize his own 'bopperism', as it's clear for everyone to see in every single posts he makes, he always have to mention Hayden's name........ even if the thread topic was about Rainbows and Unicorns, somehow ol' Jumkie will find a way to throw in Hayden's name in there and whine about how he's always been mistreated throughout his racing career.

Ben Spies just

did a 2.01.868

on his third lap.

Less than 0.3s

off Casey's best

from yesterday.

So help me understand. At Valencia, they take and give them both the same bike, Nicky makes VR look silly (whose shoulder was dangling by a string but managed to podium two day before). Forward a few months, they "radically" change the bike (allegedly), and Nicky can only match VR (who himself is down on the time sheets today, with a "repaired" shoulder?) Less you forget, Hayden also had surgery, and surely is not blaming it as "weak" or not at "full strength", etc.) And your explanation for this is? In what world does this not stink?

Honestly Amigo - I think you're making everyone the villain; everybody is responsible for Nicky's lackluster results

- except for Nicky. Yer starting to sound like a stage mother who complains loudly that her not so talented kid

isn't getting to shine in the school play because he hasn't got enough speaking lines, or a good enough costume.

At this point Ducati wants someone to shine, anyone.

lol nice!!

So how long does Mr. Valentino Rossi gets the 'Free Pass' ?? Seriously, he was doing well in his last few races last year with an ' injured ' shouder..... podium didn't he? What makes u guys think he's not giving it his all especially in this crucial stage of development time?? I don't know kids... you tell me. The Ducati cannot be this bad all of a sudden compared with last years. AND don't even give me the ........ that other manufacturers made a huge leap in development seeing how this is the first practice of the year.

Gotta wonder what Elias is thinking about his new ride.

Man i'm late to the party. Jumkie your the only sane one on the board. All the other bozo's are rossi blinded. Haydens been getting screwed for years. He should have know that being faster than rossi in the first test was not a good idea. If rossi doesn't get his ... in gear they might have to relay on Hayden. Wouldn't that be a hoot.

Rossi is seriously hampered by his shoulder , so it is hard to assess how bad the Ducati is to some degree. Haydens poor times also point to ducati woes.

Jrno, you,re reasonably pragmatic. Do you really believe they can turn it around?

Rossi,s season looks fecked, and Ducatis year doesn,t look much better. Perhaps Ducati should have offered Stoner the millions they are paying valentino, because even a non-championship bike would get the odd win : something that may not occur this year!

I am also curious on those famous R-boppers Chops and Talpa to give their take on the upcoming season, or have they gone into hiding.

PS> A bit off-topic, but the mother of all storms is about to hit NE Australia in the next 6 hours(Cyclone Yasi) . Category 5 cyclone with winds of 300+ kph predicted and similar size as Hurricane Katrina. Spare a thought for all those bunkering down tonight. Hope its not as bad as predicted, and no forum members live in the vicinity.

The 'other' Honda riders are on a counterattack against Stoner. Dovi is up there and Pedrosa's time below 2.01 is close to the all-time best at Sepang (Rossi 2009 if I'm not wrong). Spies is making a strong statement as well.

Lorenzo has not improved yet but he's probably testing stuff.

Rossi is 13th now (4 pm): he has improved, going below 2.03, but others have improved more than him. Now Hayden is first of the Ducatis and RdP second, Vale third -- this figures.

Will Rossi keep improving? Unless that blessed shoulder is a career-ending kind of injury, which is improbable, I think he will. But I'd be surprised if he hits top five before Qatar. For the moment top ten would be good for him.
