Sepang pre-season test 2011

Man i'm late to the party. Jumkie your the only sane one on the board. All the other bozo's are rossi blinded. Haydens been getting screwed for years. He should have know that being faster than rossi in the first test was not a good idea. If rossi doesn't get his ... in gear they might have to relay on Hayden. Wouldn't that be a hoot.

Jesus christ, dont ....... encourage him.

Anyone out there who genuinely believes that Rossi and the boys wont turn this around are kidding themselves.

It might not happen at the tests, it might not happen during the first part of the season.

But rest assured, Rossi will get back to full fitness & the bike will get sorted.

How can anyone not see that?

You think its a level playing field at Ducati Geo? The only shame is the manufactures insistence on wasting his talent as a #2 rider. The story of Nicky's GP career.

The story of Nicky's GP career is that he is good enough to be on a factory team but has rarely been good enough to be the number 1 rider. When he has though he's managed to get a world title out of it. Not too much to complain about.

. also braking and turning into certain corners is difficult.....

Apparently all the Ducati's are struggling with that still, it isn't a Rossi thing. His flexibility on the straights is obviously an issue if he can't get behind the fairing very well, but lets not pretend this track is his worst enemy. He won here with his poorly shoulder not too long ago.

he put on a helluva show until injuries got to him..

He put on a helluva show until rivals got to him..

I don't think the shows over though, do you?

I think almost anyone being reasonable feels the same. Some hope that it doesn't happen, some will predict that it won't happen so they can gloat if they are right (it's got to happen sometime right?). But most people probably agree.

I for one think this season is going to be brilliant, looking at the photos from this test has got me excited already. I know its easy to get excited with testing, especially when Spies and Dovi and people like that are really quick and we can convince ourselves they will be genuine contenders (believe it when you see it), but even without them winning regularly i think its gonna be epic.

"But rest assured, Rossi will get back to full fitness & the bike will get sorted."

But not soon enough to salvage an annus horribilus in 2011.

.....................and then they have to sort out the 2012 bike, which, if it has the engine as a stressed member, will need a total redesign, as the current Ducati evolutionary line seems to be as successful as the Neanderthals!

Ducati is seriously in the poo, and even having a proctologist onboard will not save them
<
. If only, they still had the Surgeon (CS) on board; then there would be a glimmer of hope................................................... a scalpel is required to excise the malignant mass (chassis) , rather than just digital manipulation with a latex covered finger.(Uccio was poor practice.

It would be extremely hasty to write off Valentino so quickly. His shoulder is the big problem it seems; he expressed himself to be quite satisfied with the Ducati. Vale himself indicated that he is losing 1 second in two hard braking zones alone. He also pointed out that he's losing half a second from not being able to tuck in down the straight.

I've been watching GP racing for many years...I haven't forgotten all the astonishing rides he's put in over the past 15 years. Do not write him off!

Nicky seems to be a bit slow out of the gates, which is disappointing compared to his preseason results last year. However, he usually takes a bit longer to adapt to(and evaluate) changes. On the positive, Nicky and Valentino were quite consistent in their feedback at Valencia, so it seems that the direction in which Valentino and JB are taking the bike will be quite beneficial for Nicky too.

Casey is obviously in a very good position. This was expected after his excellent debut at Valencia on the Honda. Honda, generally, is in an strong position. They clearly have developed a fast, reliable and refined motorcycle. The evidence of this is is perhaps most apparent by considering the performances of Simoncelli and Aoyama.

Lorenzo and Spies are where everyone expected, at the pointy end. No surprises there, the existing package has been dominant for the past three years. Spies will battle for wins this year and Lorenzo will battle for the title.

Not to mention the 1.5 secs he was losing in left and right corners and the 2.3 secs losing on acceleration, therefore giving the Ducati a corrected time of 1.58.2 Ducati should be well pleased with themselves for developing such a fast bike and should therefore pack up and go home. The championship is obviously theirs this year......................

I'm not really sure what your post adds to the discussion. Yes, the veracity of his statements should be debated, but I think in a more logical manner. Of course, we have no information to confirm or deny his claims.

It seems like quite a few has done qualifying-like runs on soft tires in the favorable cooler conditions. They might be comfortable though,so it probarbly sais something. As a wild guess, the race pace at front is about 2min.1.5 thinking about last years race 2min2.1 or something.Who is going fastest on qualifying runs?

So,an even wilder guess,it would be very good to do 2min1.5 to 2min2.0 in racetrim. We'll see.

I am inclined to believe that Rossi will soon give up on trying to make the bike something it is not and just change his style to ride it as it is meant to be ridden. If this happens it will be exciting.

I much prefer to see a bike ridden hard then one on rails that looks like even I could ride it!

Elias is starting to look like being dropped from MotoGP was the right move. But then he is Spanish so what the heck give him another chance or 10.

Gotta wonder what Elias is thinking about his new ride.

Hey hey hey! Over here pick me! I know what he's thinking. He's thinking, "Aye conyo, dios mio! Shoulda stayed in

on the ....... 600s." Seriously - Elias was so intent on being back in the big time that he didn't consider what

the consequences would be if it meant being on the piece of .... Ducati. Who knows? Maybe he thinks it's better

to be last on a MGP bike then first on a 600. I don't think so.

Just to be safe - I'm putting in an advance order for a 2013 #46 BMW WSBK T-shirt.

Sure, after all we all know how common it is to hear riders say to the press,

Wow! Does this bike suck!!! I am totally screwed, I mean really... ....... shoot me already."

There are plenty of quick spaniards about, they wont get extra chances without earning them. Elias won the moto2 world championship convincingly.

I think they might be struggling a bit but they are closer today then they were yesterday it seems because Dani was way ahead of the rest. Anyway Briggs' comment isn't about success it's about the excitement of making big changes and discovering things, rather than business as usual.

What are you talking about? He is on a Honda, he specifically refused to come back on a piece of .... Ducati
