Round 7: 2017 Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya

Lorenzo is losing pace relative to Marquez....will be interesting to see how MM plays it...

And I as I was typing that, he lost to Marquez, Pedrosa, and Dovi. Back to P4 for Lorenzo. Pedrosa's picking up pace now as is Dovi. We might be in for quite the shootout.

Pedrosa grabs the lead braking into turn 1, he's going to be trying to check out now.

Lin Jarvis with sunglasses on in the Yamaha garage?

Interesting look...he must be trying to prevent giving away any emotion.

It looks like Dovi is being patient and isn't going to try and make a move on Pedrosa right now to avoid loading up the front and wearing it out under heavy braking. Unless he can slipstream, I think he will wait till later in the race to make a move on Pedrosa. He's got the pace to get past Pedrosa, just hasn't capitalized yet.

I'm wondering if Dovi is trying to bait Pedrosa into going heavy on the brakes into turn 1 to get him to wear out the front tire faster. He isn't that committed to the slipstream on the main straight.

Dovi is starting to checkout...bad news for Pedrosa especially since MM is hanging right behind him.

MM past Pedro now too....he doesn't want Dovi to get away, but I don't know if he can prevent that. He should just hold onto position at this point and not take any unnecessary risks...

Lorenzo just picked up the pace massively...great to see. Did not want to see him finish behind the lone satellite GP7. He looks sensational on the brakes backing it in and spinning the rear up through corners. Wow.

Marquez doing the sensible thing and holding position. Have to take the 20 points here especially after the P6 at Mugello.

Dovi just needs to keep the bike upright at this point.

Dovi with back-to-back wins! Fantastic riding and tire management!

Hey Gaz, you still want to compare him with Crutchlow? ;)

I'm trying to remember who called me crazy for calling Dovi a championship contender before the season started. Thats right it was all of you.

First back-to-back wins for a Ducati rider since Casey Stoner won at Aragon and Motegi in 2010.

There's still a lot of races to go, and Yamaha isn't going to have this kind of performance all the time. Too early to be saying this stuff.
