This looks like the Jerez problem resurfacing for Yamaha, but this time it seems to affect the 2016 model as well. NO YAMAHA IN THE TOP TEN.

To be totally fair as well, this was their first run on new/old/new piece of track so perhaps that has played a part (would need to see section splits) and whilst yes, it was the same for all (except Jack :p ) it may be worth considering.

Poor Karl. I can only assume it was because he had zero pace and was coming into the pits, while Petrucci is now a Prima Donna because he has two podiums in MotoGP. :furious:

Naah - he's actually a good lad which is why he's one of the most popular individual in the paddock - particularly amongst other riders. It just seems that racing a motorcycle sometimes doesn't bring the best out in him...which I find hilarious. What would people prefer, one of these sugar coated prescriptively P/R processed platitude ridden Dorna clones? The thing that I find most amusing about Crutch is that he incenses people on armchair forums yet is loved by his team and his counterparts. Which is quite telling really. The thing that is consistently missed is the fact that once he has shot his mouth off, after a period of reflection he is usually quite magnanimous. Not because he's had some bollocking from Chech or some Dorna lacky, but because he's genuinely quite a thoughtful individual.

Regarding the Pedrosa comment last week that seemed to rile so many, he really meant and you can tell - although only a point was at stake, he was still pissed this weekend. I agree with Hodgson, Cal Crutchlow rides for Cal Crutchlow, why shouldn't he be pleased that a ..... move from Dani cost him second in the championship? Is there any other rider that wouldn't internally be thinking that? - it's just that being Crutchlow, unlike some other riders that spring to mind in the paddock, instead of internalising it, he'll get it out...Foggy was equally forthright and in a the world of insincerity that we now live in, (and particularly in the context of this paddock), such candour and undisguised plainspokenness is something that I find that quite refreshing.

Like Stoner, Crutchlow doesn't care who he upsets. If it needs to be said - you can count on him to say it. The problem arises when something doesn't need to be said...and that's why his feeble diplomacy dike should be reinforced not breached.

I don't think we'll ever agree fully on Crutchlow. ;)

Rossi seems to have adapted to the low grip issues in FP4. Vinales has not made any inroads sitting back in P15.

We will know shortly if Vinales can find something extra for qualifying or not.

Folger and Vinales two top riders in Q1.

Rossi and Zarco 13th and 14th on the grid respectively.

Bopper logic 101
Speaking your mind is only a positive character trait if you beat Rossi, otherwise your a whiny POS.

4 crashes for Marquez today. Salvaged a 4th place start though so it could've been worse.

A lot of crashes though, not surprising crap track condititions and ...... tyres. Tomorrow could have major championship implications. If Vinaeles crashes it's game on again for the title. If Marquez, Pedrosa or Rossi crash their respective title hopes are finished.

If Jerez and Catalunya can't get their tracks sorted it's time to axe them until they do.

Pedrosa with pole, going to be the favorite for tomorrow.

Marquez is the only guy who has shown pace over the weekend that he could beat him. Pedrosas lighter weight and smoother style should theoretically mean he will get more out of the tyres than others.

I wonder when the last time Pedrosa beat a team mate to two wins?

Edit to add: 2013 before that it was 2010.

All the speculation about the 070 tire appears to have missed the mark a tad. People who shouldn't like it are doing better and people that should like it are doing worse.

JLo has changed his style. Watch out GeePee-ers, he is coming together with the Ducati. Lucky for MM, he is usually already lying on the tarmac when he crashes.

Looking like a game of attrition tomorrow. Pedrosa looking good. Marquez clueless (or his crew is) and Ducatis looking to be the dark horse here. Expect an unexpected rider (Bautista?) to end up on the podium. Rossi will ride fairly conservative just to get points towards the championship. This is shaping up to be one of the most weirdly unpredictable seasons in decades.

Tell me Compa - where do you think Lorenzo will end up in the points this year? I love your boundless optimism.

This sounds odd to me, since I am not particularly a "fan" of Jlo. Thus "boundless optimism" is not really what I feel. The Ducati is better than most around here seem to think, and Lorenzo is adapting. He must have some skill to win three Championships against some tough competition, don't you think? And you add those twos together and you get four. But, I will give him fifth with my "optimism" for this year. Sixth is probably more realistic with the mediocre start. But, like Pedrosa, if he gets in a groove, he is very consistent.

I'll tell you why, its Spain and Dorna don't give a .... how bad the surfaces are. They only threaten other countries with the same track surfaces.
Personally I think there should be only 1 race per season in a given country.

But, Ducatis can't turn!!!!!

Wait till the tires wear down. Mugello is not that physical a track as it's mostly fast flowing corners. If the Ducatis are running up front at the end of the race it will show improvement they have been looking for
