Unprecedented? So about all the laughing at Jack. Jack gets the last laugh as the only one to practice on the correct course. Gotta love it.

what was up with Cal giving the .... YOU gesture (as he was running back) to the garage two up from his?

Even if he does manage to master that type of cornering there's still the matter of his consistency.

It's a big job for him to change his style, but an expert will do it given time.

Can he ever conquer the demons in his mind is the problem.

Demons in his mind?

Oh stop already with the theatrics.

I was wondering if someone in one of the other garages made a comment to him.

But, it may also simply be Cal being his usual self.

I think since he broke his collarbone, and then crashed immediately afterward bending the metal, he's ...... in the head.

You never know how he's going to do in a race since then.

If everything is perfect, he's ahead of everyone.

Anything wrong at all and he's way back.

Demons in his mind == ...... in the head

Great to see Lorenzo near the top of the pops, even if it's only Friday. Hopefully he will continue making progress.
Consistency? I think that is his strong suit.
Weak in the head? If I recall correctly, he has notched a world championship since breaking his collarbone.

I wouldn't call him ...... in the head for racing with a broken collarbone. Racing with a broken collarbone is simply a sign of the dedication and drive that allowed him to get to that level. That's why you don't see hacks like us out there because even if some of us have the skill, we don't have the dedication. He did what a number of world champions have done...and that is why those guys were able to become world champions.

You should read this forum more often if you don't because it's been discussed what affects his performances and it has nothing to do with what's in his head. It's about what makes contact with the ground underneath him; it's the tires.

Tiger went Tiger

Tiger's only real mistake aside from training with Navy SEALS, was getting married.

If I had as much success as he had early on, why I'd never get married. Why pass up the ability to bury my .... into any ..... within 1 inch of me whenever I want?

Comments from Marquez....

He thinks Vinales will be on the front row for the race, and I think so too. 1.5 seconds seems massive, but it's really only got to do with them not being at the test here in my opinion. Either way, with the yet again revised circuit layout, it takes away the Honda and even Ducati advantage.

But Maverick himself doesn't think so:

Now, all we need in FP3 is for Jack to ride the new but now old chicane just as a piss take

Only 1 inch? I can bury it at least 3

100% agree with this. Edit: to say it seemed to me those two crashes ...... up his head.

They've been a big deal with him, for sure. Watching him, only over the last four years, it seems to me there's more to it.

You always struck me as one who would be deft with a blunt instrument. :p

How good is that Yamaha? This good:
"I can't explain what happened, the rear was sliding around in 5th and 6th gear. Right now, we don't know how to solve the problem"
The guy leading the 'ship with three wins is clueless why his bike is sliding. Swell, even JPSLotus could tell us that nothing-at-all. What a maroon. Maybe I have overrated Lorenzo, if the Yamaha is this ..... compliant.
