If I were Marquez, I would follow Vinales till they cleared off from the field, then start trying to force him into a mistake. No need to push balls out and try to clear off. He needs to get Vinales in a battle.

That's the battle for second place, you forgot the Sunday man.

He should .... with Mav, like he did to Rossi at Phillip Island.

Rossi is such a strong racer and his starts are so good that he could really make a difference, tomorrow. . If Lorenzo has made it over the hump, he too could be a factor with the long straights. Remember, that he has shown his skill at this track before, so it is possible.

I like your thinking, but that is asking a lot from him. He was able to be more methodical last season, but he wasn't down to MV by two full races.

Did anyone see MM's look as the camera was following MV around? "WTF? I am the champion, and the pole sitter." SOB. Now that's just the sangria shanks."

Should be obvious to everyone that Dorna is trying to use MV as Rossi's successor since as I said recently they burned down everyone who should have been marketed as a successor to Rossi.

Either way tomorrow, the race is Vinales' to lose. People trackside told me the M1 is absolutely planted in corners. If MM's streak ends tomorrow, that may actually be good in the long run because all of the Honda riders are openly questioning why Honda has done nothing with the chassis for 3 years, and that's why they are having problems with keeping pace with the M1. Marquez said following Vinales, it showed him how the bike moves, and he remarked that it was easy to see why he was doing so well. If it takes Honda's dominance ending at COTA so Honda finally starts redesigning the chassis, then that will be worthwhile. They've spent so much time ....... around with the engine that the chassis development has been nearly non-existent.

Fingers crossed. If it doesn't rain - this has all the markings of a really epic race. That had to be the best quali since they went to 15 minute format. I don't want to set myself up for disappointment - but Lorenzo qualifying in 4th ahead of Dovi - is really promising. Again - fingers crossed.

And WTF was Vinales bitching about w Rossi? Was Rossi in fact cruising on the racing line?

It sure looked like it to me. I know Vinaeles was quicker than Rossi around the track but the difference in speed was huge when they had their incident.

This is what I thought and touched upon during the off season tests.

I looks like Rossi can ride clean lines and follow for constant podiums without having get down and dirty, He may well win his 10th. MV and MM have to do the pushing and risk taking.

If it does not work, well... He developed the M1 into what it is for MV, he has set him up with all his ? something for MV to become the #1 yamaha rider etc and carry the torch.

Hope we get a good show MM, MV & VR, chuck in some other more unknown variables as well.

Dani and Johann might get in the way there.

Not expecting miracles - but happy to see he's at least competitive in quali. Most will agree Lorenzo is a major talent. Just a question as to whether he's adaptable. Shame he isn't racing for Yamaha with Vinales as his teammate. Even if he just podiums regularly - he'll make a better showing than Rossi did and that will count for something. I don't want the Duc to break him like it did others. He's a worthy competitor. I felt right away he wouldn't come to terms with the Duc... but I'd be happy if he proved me wrong.

Who the .... chooses the social media questions to ask? They always ask the ....... most moronic ones. Some fans do come up with genuinely interesting questions and even if they're going for some comedic value surely they can do better than what pizza toppings would everyone be.

Can someone tell me what Rossi called Marquez? I didn't understand him.

This is one of those tracks where you wonder if pole is better than third. Show is on the inside and you could easily block the pole sitter. JLo is right behind Rossi and could just crowd in front of MV and MM with him. We have seen that kind of thing before.

OK Some pics from last year. I posted all these but hey, whatever.

I totally wish I was there this year too especially the race seems like it's gonna be an exciting one. Everyone who is there should post and videos for us poor peasants who couldn't make it this year.

I want Marc to win the race but Vinales may be too good on Yamaha.

I say
Marc
Marv
Rossi
Zarco
....Lorenzo!
