Well they didn't react that well to bodyline did they?

Well they didn't react that well to bodyline did they?

But they didn't snitch.

We took, we accepted, we perfected, we belted and then along came the Windies who took perfection further and obliterated the world with the best pace attack.

Mind you, Bradman suffered that Bodyline series ---------- averaged 48 or so from memory ............ I know some that would like to score 48 runs in a career, never mind average it and call it a poor series.

It was those series that cost him the 100 average :D

My personal favourite sledge from the time.
"OK, which of you .......s called Larwood a ....... instead of this ........"
Richardson on opening the dressing-room door to face Jardine demanding an apology after he overheard one of the Australians sledging Larwood and calling him a .......

It's not good spirited piss-taking that's run people off here. It's constant dribble of low-brow, hostility thinly disguised as "banter". The constant trolling by people lacking basic social skills is ....... mind-numbingly boring. Intellectually, it's like death by a million small paper cuts, inflicted on the others, by puerile trolls whose only mission here is to piss off people who want to discuss racing. No mentally healthy person devotes that much time to alienating complete strangers who want nothing to do with them. It's a sickness.

Who the hell are you trying to fool? A new member? We've been here for a long time, it's been years of insults from you, JPS,... all of us have gone back and forth. Don't try to act like hostility has only come from others and you're innocent. If you can't take the heat, get the hell out of the kitchen!!

Even when we are discussing racing, that doesn't stop hostility and personal attacks from the "other side". I don't go crying about it to the forum admin. If you're too weak to take an insult, don't give them!!

You couldn't be more correct. He literally is responsible for running off one of the best members this forum had. His attacks have no boundaries.

Ah, so that'll be why you're regularly up and down to Cumbria? Mostly TIG work? - respect.

MIG very easy? All relative I suppose. It's 'easy' in comparison to TIG particularly if you've been doing the latter for much of your working life. I've observed over the years that practice makes a good welder. It may be easy to MIG weld but wouldn't you say it's also easy to make a botch job and cold MIG joints that are then prone to failure. Seen so many cowboys.

I'm guessing that you are amongst those traditionalists who were already accustomed to oxy acetylene torches meaning TIG was natural to you naturally knowing how to manipulate the weld puddle and manage a soft start and finish process?

Sorry to deluge you with questions, the new Sellafield project is massive. Aside from the four reactors I understand that there is an entirely new planned community being phased around the development?
Arrab,
Do you have night classes/weekend courses/adult education (fnarr) facilities around your area?
I had to pass a pretty rudimentary welding course as part of my degree many moons ago, but did a refresher a few years back when my dad wanted a stupid big fence frame in his backyard, and I volunteered to build it. Enjoyed the course much more than I thought I would.

Y'all don't need 911 you need 411, so here is some info for you. If you don't like banter block the posters who do it. Block me! If you don't want to argue don't make comments about people. If you do makea comment be prepared for a response. .... is this that hard to figure out?

Stop using big words

I live in the country man so I need one of those books that tells me what words mean

Or as we say 'folks are dumb where I come from'
