I'm not remotely interested in your 'arse' or anyone else's you care to mention DB (although any recollections of Katja Poensgen are most welcome). The only relevance to this exchange is your propensity to talk out of it, the belief that Foggy owned Slight's and far from living in a caravan you appear to have made a new home up MotoVudu's.

You said this...

...and I'm simply recommending that you get hold of his book because I think you'd enjoy it. Actually, speaking of Crafar, I think he came back to Superbikes to deputise for Slight on the Honda during his recovery from the tumour.

Serious question though, are you a fabrication welder? Also, I knew a very talented TIG welder who was a master of machine set up, travel speeds, deposition rates and inter pass temperatures. He compared it to a zen-like experience, unaware of his inputs, just focusing in the weld pool and controlling the flow. Are you solely MIG? - what rig do you have? Coming from someone who struggles to successfully brandish a ....... soldering iron I'd be very intrigued to hear.

I do mostly tig welding, core work is Sellafield pipes so the post fabrication testing of the spools is meticulous. My set is a migatronic pi250, great set and that's a big part of being able to do welds that pass x-ray.
Don't do much mig work, it's very easy though, I often wonder at people who can't do it.

Ah, so that'll be why you're regularly up and down to Cumbria? Mostly TIG work? - respect.

MIG very easy? All relative I suppose. It's 'easy' in comparison to TIG particularly if you've been doing the latter for much of your working life. I've observed over the years that practice makes a good welder. It may be easy to MIG weld but wouldn't you say it's also easy to make a botch job and cold MIG joints that are then prone to failure. Seen so many cowboys.

I'm guessing that you are amongst those traditionalists who were already accustomed to oxy acetylene torches meaning TIG was natural to you naturally knowing how to manipulate the weld puddle and manage a soft start and finish process?

Sorry to deluge you with questions, the new Sellafield project is massive. Aside from the four reactors I understand that there is an entirely new planned community being phased around the development?

I did a few weeks oxy acetylene welding way back in 1981 as an apprentice sheety. Didn't do tig welding till 1988 and that was on aluminium duct .
My tig set has slope up/down to help avoid pitting when sudden cooling happens.
Moorside is the name of the new power station, it's just by Sellafield, there's a bit of a hiccup atm as Toshiba are by all accounts skint .

Only snowflakes get hurt by insults , being a welder I get insulted all the time, it's like part of the job. I just take it on the chin...and laugh...

:fishing1:

Exactly the attitude Ive always had here.
Unfortunately a lot of people don't understand this. If Im insuting you, Im expecting banter to ensue, instead people take it as a slight and start hitting the chickenshit button.
Did you get a yellow card?

Thanks for that, genuinely very interested - as I suspected, you've been in it a long time which is why it's so easy to you.

Funny coming from you. Considering a few people have left this forum because of you, maybe not everyone cares for that kind of banter? Just a thought.

No I got a straight red lol.
I can't believe people reporting posts, we're all adults (I think) or is duc really Mark Zuckerberg

I don't think anyones ever left the forum because of me although I certainly gave them reason too. That was years in the past and I challenge you to find a post from me, since being reinstated that has broken the forum rules.
There is no doubt in my mind that if i berated and insulted members on the daily as you do then I would have been banned eons ago.
I dont agree with DB or MV's opinions but I certainly dont take personal insult to it like you do. In fact I think those two are much like Barry. Noone takes more .... than those 3, but the consistently deflect the hatred with humor. I can respect that. Thats how this place used to be. Jum and Rog were Nor Ko and South Ko. Now they have more love than a black .... in a Kardashian bedroom.

:rolleyes: :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I don't care what offensive stuff you type, but I am letting you know people have left because of stuff you've typed on here.

So JPS attacks/insults anyone who wont accept his opinions as fact... then turns around and reports anyone who insults him. That's the very definition of a... oh wait.. better not insult or personally attack him.

Where is the report tab :D

I think the worst offender is *insert name here* who constantly trots out his favourite rebuke to different opinions 'cognitive dissonance', in fact if *insert name here* had any balls, he would also report the previous unnamed twunt for such cruel taunts.

Ahh I didn't see the pic earlier as my data was down most of today, I can do 90% of the work in that scene, bar the electrics.

Oh look...three posters who are still obsessed with me. I'm truly flattered that you guys can't stop mentioning me. Please keep mentioning me in every other post you guys make. I enjoy it very much.
