I'm not remotely interested in your 'arse' or anyone else's you care to mention DB (although any recollections of Katja Poensgen are most welcome). The only relevance to this exchange is your propensity to talk out of it, the belief that Foggy owned Slight's and far from living in a caravan you appear to have made a new home up MotoVudu's.
You said this...
...and I'm simply recommending that you get hold of his book because I think you'd enjoy it. Actually, speaking of Crafar, I think he came back to Superbikes to deputise for Slight on the Honda during his recovery from the tumour.
Serious question though, are you a fabrication welder? Also, I knew a very talented TIG welder who was a master of machine set up, travel speeds, deposition rates and inter pass temperatures. He compared it to a zen-like experience, unaware of his inputs, just focusing in the weld pool and controlling the flow. Are you solely MIG? - what rig do you have? Coming from someone who struggles to successfully brandish a ....... soldering iron I'd be very intrigued to hear.
I do mostly tig welding, core work is Sellafield pipes so the post fabrication testing of the spools is meticulous. My set is a migatronic pi250, great set and that's a big part of being able to do welds that pass x-ray.
Don't do much mig work, it's very easy though, I often wonder at people who can't do it.
