WTF!!!?

Lance Armstrong never kicked anybody whilst riding did he!??

Alls Lance did was pop a few Bex didnt he?

You cleary have never watched any of the dozen or so documentaries on Lance. He was a monster.

And Rossi didn't kick Marc, please stop the nonsense.

Armstrong is not a bad analogy. Both terrible people, both willing to do anything to win, destroying anyone who dared get in their way. The big difference between the 2 is Armstrong cheated the rules, Rossi had the backing of the rules makers who manipulated said rules to bolster his chances. A person has to decide which is worse, a cheater, or someone who allowed the system to cheat on his behalf.

I think Lynn Jarvis' facial expression belies that fantasy. Of course it was a kick.

Lin was seeing it from one angle at the instant it happened. After he, and most reasonable people saw the millions of angles that surfaced, he responded by saying it wasn't a kick.

Sounds like you really look up to Rossi. Is he your Father Figure?

You have to remember Lin Jarvis is the head of Yamaha Motor Racing. It is his job to do things in the best interest of the team. No matter what his personal views, he was obligated to appeal. I would have expected the same thing from Livio Suppo, Davide Brivio, or Gigi Dall'Igna.

You also have to remember on several occasions there was no chance Valentino would be welcome back at Yamaha.

Of course it's his job to do what's in the best interest of the team. In any event, the incident between Vale and Marc has been discussed/debated to death, and no one is going to change either side's mind on the issue.

So let me pose another question. I'll admit I came into the sport a bit after the reign of terror of Rossi, probably around 2009.

In your opinion, what is it about Rossi that enabled him to get the entity of MotoGP to become his pawn? Why didn't they select some other rider to become their "king"?

I'm asking seriously.

^^ go buy a book just published from Jumkie:" Rossi BS and the yellow brigade who eats that .... up". Currently best seller. [emoji16]
Edit: the answer to your question has been discussed to death in multiple threads on this site for the past 6 months. Spend some time and read , but nobody is going to change your opinion anyway, right?

His popularity translates to money. Somehow, his clown suits and blow up dolls appealed to millions of people that fell fanatically in love with him. Carmello seized on that popularity to manipulate the sport in his favor to make himself a very rich man. Still, he had to go out and do it and was good enough to do just that against much much weaker competition. When you mix together a very good rider, weaker than the norm competition and manipulation of the sport towards that rider, its not hard to see how he became a 7 time GP champion. With that being said, his advantages paled in comparison to what Ago enjoyed throughout the majority of his career when he was on machines that were 25-30 mph faster than anything on the track. Rossi's record is impressive for someone who doesnt know or doesnt care how he got it, but my belief is Stoner, Lorenzo, and Marquez are superior talents who will never get the credit they are due because of the narrative Dorna planted and nourished for 15 years. False idol comes to mind when looking for words to describe Valentino Rossi.

While I respect your opinion, I simply don't agree with it entirely. How can you say that Stoner, Lorenzo, and Marc are superior talents when Rossi wasn't in his prime when he raced them? Also, the bikes today are far superior to those available when Rossi was racing in his prime, making today's riders appear even more superhuman.

Certainly not you, with that attitude.
